Piranhas → Piranhas, Alagoas – Per WP:ASTONISH and WP:PLURALPT clearly if there was a primary topic it would be the animal (which this place appears to be named after) per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. The place in Alagoas gets 282 views but Piranhas (2019 film) has 1,166, Piranhas (baseball) has 31, Piranhas, Goiás has 7, The Piranhas has 563 and the animal has a staggering 33,656[[1]]. Google, Images and Books only show results for the animal. There appear to be other places in Brazil called "Piranhas". See similar cases like Bones, Bookends, Cars, Cats, Parachutes and Pixies which no only does the specific meanings not take precedence, the general meanings do. In the category namespace at Category:Piranhas where its convention to use the plural and not the singular the animal is at the base name and this article was accidentally added to it. I would also note that its on User:Certes/misdirected links#Examples because there were 18 errors. In summary the place in Alagoas is clearly not the primary topic by usage given the film gets over 4x the views and the animal gets over 119x the views in addition to the group getting around double the views (despite the benefit of being at the base name). By long-term significance the animal (which is a level 4 vital article) is clearly the primary topic if anything but its blatantly clear that this place isn't the primary topic. Yes this article has been stable since its creation in 2004 but per WP:UNCHALLENGED this isn't a strong reason to keep it as is when there's clear evidence that this is vastly inappropriate. Note that even ptwiki redirects pt:Piranhas to the animal so it would seem odd that the English Wikipedia doesn't. Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names)#Brazil the state disambiguator is correct and Piranhas, Goiás is also in Brazil as well. Either "Piranhas" should be a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to the animal or it should redirect to Piranha (disambiguation) per WP:DABCOMBINE or be a separate DAB page. - Support per detailed nomination. This page gets a relatively low number of views so there aren't that many surprised readers. – Thjarkur (talk) 22:08, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 22:15, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
- Support. This is very very clearly not the WP:Primary topic. This is definitely a case for a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to the fish which put on a show for Teddy Roosevelt.
Congrats to the nominator for an extensively-researched and eloquently-reasoned nomination. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 22:28, 29 August 2020 (UTC) - Support per nom. It would be very fishy if it was not the primary topic. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:31, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Although a {{R from ambiguous term}} to Piranha (disambiguation) should be considered, there is probably enough evidence of the fish being a primary topic to justify a {{R from plural}} to Piranha. There are only 120 incoming internal links to fix, and hopefully not too many external ones to break. Certes (talk) 10:18, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- Support per nom. And primary redirect to Piranha. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:23, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
