This page is being worked on for a project at the University of Michigan. Look for the new page in a month or so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chem507f10grp1 (talkcontribs) 16:47, 29 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal

edit

I'd like to propose that the two pages Bathochromic shift and Hypsochromic shift both be merged into the page Solvatochromism. Both of these effects are simply forms of solvatochromism; one is a positive shift and the other is negative. At this point, they are both stub articles and would be fairly easy to integrate into Solvatochromism. I think it would be better this way because it's really all the same phenomenon, and it would be more informative for people to be redirected to a section explaining what these two terms mean on the more comprehensive page. 169.237.106.100 (talk) 18:37, 10 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Correction: The phenomena of bathochromic and hypsochromic shift can be caused by other factors, and solvatochromism is just perhaps the most prominent of them. So the two pages should not be merged into solvatochromism, but maybe merged into one article of their own, somewhat like hyperchromism and hypochromism are. 67.164.214.151 (talk) 04:56, 11 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
