Roger Balian
editHis publication is not public. Actually, I don't care about the arguments. Roger Balian is member of the Académie des sciences, and had a long carrier in the Commissariat à l'énergie atomique. AFAIK, he is the most qualified physicist who wrote a commentary about Allais's interpretation on Miller's results. Far beyond Allais himself. Barraki 10:07, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Your comment seems to be based on the simplistic and obviously faulty assumption that scientists can be ranked as on a ladder (quotation from The Trouble with Physics, chapter 19 How Science Really works, Lee Smolin). I am really interested in Roger Balian's note, if this could help us to shed light on how we should interpretate Maurice Allais' analysis. Arjen Dijksman 16:22, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- We should interpretate? You are speaking about Wikipédia? Please remember WP:OR. Well, elseway, you can contact Jean.Gunther AROBASE wanadoo.fr to ask him if he has an electronic copy of this article. He made a critic of his former economy teacher here: [1]. Barraki 12:17, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- That's exactly what I mean, remembering the WP:OR sentence: Interpretations and syntheses must be attributed to reliable sources that make these interpretations and syntheses. If Balian's interpretation is worthwhile, we should mention it on wikipedia. Thanks for the contact tip. Arjen Dijksman 21:27, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- But I don't think you have to evaluate if Bailan's interpretation is worthwhile. Barraki 22:51, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

why is it highlighted in blue?
editAny time you click on a footnote's reference numbering, the corresponding note is highlighted in blue. It had me confused for a while, too. Dicklyon (talk) 23:41, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Claude Pouillet, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Claude Servais Mathias Pouillet. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:13, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Claude Servais Mathias Pouillet a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. --Allen3 talk 11:29, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
intro to QM article radically truncated
editHi,
A new editor has unilaterally many drastic changes to the article Introduction_to_quantum_mechanics to which you have made contributions. I do not think that the changes are desirable. I do not want to start an edit war. Could you please have a look at it? Thanks. P0M (talk)
A thought experiment (QM) question
editHi,
I saw that you are a physicist, and did quite a few very reasonable edits. I wonder if you could possibly comment on a thought experiment I've been pondering about. It's on the Wikipedia sister project - Wikiversity - here: [2] Thanks. --Dc987 (talk) 08:34, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

editHello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of unsolved problems in physics may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Request to review an article
editHi, I have created and developed a page on Clebsch-Gordan coefficient for SU(3). This is my first article. The article is a bit technical and require expert opinion. It will be really helpful if you find some time to take a look at the article and propose any improvements if necessary. Thank you. Soviet War Cemetery Leusden moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Soviet War Cemetery Leusden, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
