41matt14's edits to track lists

edit

This user has done this on all sorts of K-pop album articles for years. It'd be appreciated if you could contribute on his talk page where I've tagged you and elaborate on why you believe the edits to be cluttered and disregarding style guidelines—it may help convince them to stop the excessive detail and reintroduction of needless parameters, and to stop disregarding WP:REPEATLINK and MOS:ACCESS-required captions. Thanks. Ss112 20:05, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

About track listing

edit

I have read the discussion on track listing you had on 41matt14's talk page. They actually have had edited a lot of track listings and added excessive details on many articles, including articles I made/watch over, so I'm planning to fix them. But I'm still not sure about the table when there are many repeated tracks across the album types with slightly different order. So, if you have time, could you check this draft I made for The Star and see if I do anything wrong? Yolo4A4Lo (talk) 13:04, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Yolo4A4Lo: I am not really an expert but it looks good to me. I mostly use WP:TRACKLISTING as reference for the track listings. Sometimes I also find it helpful to look at how they are formatted on album FAs. For me, the most important thing is that they are easy to read (which was my main problem with 41matt14's edits) and yours looks good on that front. Artemisia (talk) 13:44, 5 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much for suggestion. Yolo4A4Lo (talk) 08:35, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Base (EP), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mnet. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Yuna Kim page and bot suggestions

edit

What else needs to be done before we send it to review? I think I might ask for a third person to have a look at it. Also, I saw you used something called "IABot" on that page, I wanted to know if you have more bot suggestions, that I can use on other pages? Editor120918756 (talk) 16:28, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Editor120918756: There are a couple of {{citation needed}} tags that still need filling and the section about her religion needs sourcing. I think the endorsements section may need to be updated but I will look into that. Other than that, I think we need to do a full source check to make sure all the references are working and that they verify everything in the article. I used IABot to quickly archive all the references in the article - it's very easy to use and saves a lot of time, especially for long articles like this one. I don't use a lot of other bots but you can see the scripts I use here. Artemisia (talk) 16:57, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Artemisialufkin: Hi, if you look at @figureskatingfan's page, you'll see that she says the GA article reviewers will apply a lot of scrutiny and probably ask us to fork the page. Since I suggested we work this to GA level, I will definitely help if you still want to do it. If you don't, that's also okay by me, I'm fine with simply updating the page and not asking for GA review. Editor120918756 (talk) 11:26, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Editor120918756: Yes, I replied there, not sure if you saw it! Yuna's article currently has 44kB readable prose, which shouldn't require a fork per WP:SIZESPLIT. However, if we are asked to do this, I would be happy to handle the fork myself if you would prefer not to. Artemisia (talk) 11:38, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Saw it, I'll work on it with you, Artemisia. Editor120918756 (talk) 11:45, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Since the conversation about possible forked articles has already started here, I'll go ahead and chime in. I think that there are two possible new articles you could create. Everything under the"Skating technique" and "Artistry" sections could become "Artistry of Yuna Kim." The sections "Show skating career", "Philanthropy and activism", and "Personal life" could become "Post-skating career of Yuna Kim." I also like your idea about "List of career achievements by Yuna Kim." Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 18:09, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Artemisialufkin:
I'm subscribing to this thread so I can keep up to date with the conversation. I'll reply to this once Artemisia does, @Christine Editor120918756 (talk) 19:41, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Figureskatingfan: @Editor120918756: These all sound like good ideas to me. I don't have a strong preference right now about which options to go with. I think it might be better to wait until Christine completes her review so we can first identify which areas need improvement. Artemisia (talk) 21:49, 2 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yuna Kim

edit

I think it's better to keep it here, and maybe discover a potential 4th fact-checker for the review. @Artemisialufkin. Apparently, yes, Yuna did have an older sibling, but values her privacy, which is well known among Korean fans (a friend just told me). A mention might be found in an early interview, so will search, but I'll be limited because I'm guessing it only exists in Korean.

@Figureskatingfan Do you have suggestions of a 4th reviewer? It can be someone familiar with wiki rules. I'll already be asking my friends for suggestions on how to complete the article and what else I can add, so not necessary to be a Yuna fan. Editor120918756 (talk) 12:59, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Editor120918756 you probably have better contacts than me. Everyone I know is pretty busy right now. Re: family members and privacy in bios: see WP:BLPNAME. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 16:47, 17 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Editor120918756: Yes, I know she has a sister, I added it to the article previously - not sure if you saw? I don't think we should bring in another reviewer until we've addressed the issues brought up in Christine's review. Artemisia (talk) 01:05, 18 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
I hadn't noticed, no. If that's all we need to do, then I'm fine with leaving it there. But if there's more to write, it can be taken from the forum I linked, it has news as well. Editor120918756 (talk) 06:01, 18 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
@ArtemisialufkinParaphrasing done. I think to remove OR, I can scour through archive.org on goldenskate, but I'm gonna be slow on that. Promise to do it and then notify though.
Will read the forum and see if I can find anything interesting to add too. Editor120918756 (talk) 09:28, 20 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yuna Kim GA

edit

I'm very sorry, I completely lost track of what I was supposed to be doing. Could you assign tasks to me? I promise I'll pay attention much more closely and get it done. The page to me looks pretty "complete" though. Editor120918756 (talk) 15:45, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Editor120918756: No worries, I have also been distracted lately. There are still issues with original research, as was brought up in Christine's review. We need to make sure that the sources we're using fully support all of the claims we're making. Off the top of my head, there's the citation needed for Triglav Trophy in the early career section. We also need a better source for ref 176 in the skating technique section - it shows that she landed a triple-triple but not that it was her first. There may be others but that's what currently stands out to me. Artemisia (talk) 01:44, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Artemisialufkin: OK. I think I won't be able to find the Triglav one, because it is likely to be in Korean. I did add a source for some of her “firsts“ though. This source ("firsts keep coming for Kim") claims she stared skating at six, even though what we currently have written is that she started at five. You can judge for yourself, it's possible it's "korean age". Editor120918756 (talk) 11:26, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Artemisialufkin: OTOH, this claims her first triple triple was at the korean nationals in 2004-05. I'm looking at the articles in archive. You might want to look at the ones in Korean? https://web.archive.org/web/20160403065530/http://yunapedia.com/story/2004-2005

ETA: Not archived, but I think this is more within your grasp as well, if you can find articles about 2004-05 nationals.Editor120918756 (talk) 12:04, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Editor120918756: Yes, it is in Korean age. Her English website confirms that she was five. I'll have a look for a source about the combination but maybe we should just remove that part. Artemisia (talk) 12:08, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I changed "synth-punk" to "synth-funk" before you changed it back. It is a mistranslation from the original release/article. "Punk" and "Funk" are spelled the same in Korean (펑크) and there is no punk, synth or otherwise, on the album. Trilli0625 (talk) 22:36, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Trilli0625: I didn't change it back, I just added a source to support the genre change. You only changed it in one paragraph in your original edit. Artemisia (talk) 23:07, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hey Artemisialufkin, would you mind assessing this bio? I'd appreciate it if you did, here's the link: Wikipedia:WikiProject Figure Skating/Assessment/Yuna Kim. Best, Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 17:37, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Figureskatingfan: I would, but it says in the A-Class review instructions that reviewers must be uninvolved with the article. I have second-highest authorship on this article. I would be happy to review any other articles in the future though! Artemisia (talk) 17:43, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, never mind then. I'm trying to elicit assessors, so please ignore the request. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 18:37, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
