Tony Blinken

edit

Please check back at Talk:Tony Blinken. Someone implemented your proposal on Blinken's marriage, and I've implemented four of your other five requests. The exception is the career bit, since some of the facts aren't in the source, but of course everything you wrote will be fine once we have proper sourcing. I really want to thank you for the way you've handled this situation. As a firsttime-longtime, you've probably read about many incidents we've had with PR folks who flaunted our standards, but you've clearly done everything properly and in good faith, including laying out your proposed changes in an easy-to-understand and easy-to-implement format instead of asking us just to dump in a pile of changes all at once. I've left a note at WP:HD suggesting that we point to what you've done as an example of best practice for PR editors. Finally, I might not notice if you respond solely at the talk page with improved sourcing for the career bit, but I'll definitely notice if you also leave a note at my talk page. I've been busy today and only have a few minutes right now, but I will handle your request as soon as I can. This is just a note to assure you that I saw and am not ignoring your request. Nyttend (talk) 21:09, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Done responding to your request. The end result is that I implemented most of what you said; I rewrote Dukakis because the Wikipedia editor had seemingly copied from the Horowitz article (see copyright infringement!), I resolved the citation needed in the intro, and I added your proposed citation to the early life. There's still an outstanding thing on his stepfather influencing him strongly, but it's trivial and can easily be resolved; I made a suggestion and would appreciate your input. Thanks again for the help! Nyttend (talk) 03:37, 20 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the further response. I'm somewhat uncomfortable with basically using Pisar's own words for himself being a big influence on his stepson, so given your last sentence, I've just removed it. Of course, I think it would be good to restore it if we have an outside author that says the same thing. I'm sorry that I need a bit of help on this situation; it's just somewhat difficult writing about someone I'd never heard of before (I don't think I've yet run into his name in print) without your assistance. Conflict of Interest

edit

Brian, thank you for being open about having a conflict of interest. I'm still a bit confused though. On your user page you say that you are making edits to the Tony Blinken page "as a part of my work with GPG" but elsewhere you say "Mr. Blinken is a friend of a couple of colleagues who asked me to look into this further"[1], which seems a lot more informal.

Beyond that, kind of troubled to see that this might be my tax dollars at work... Plot Spoiler (talk) 17:18, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the clarification. Plot Spoiler (talk) 23:11, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
