Request for edit summary

edit

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 2% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 1 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 23:30, 27 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, edits like this are unnecessary. The format dates are displayed in depends on the preferences users have set. Thanks! —Angr 16:48, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove references from articles. Birthdates receive a lot of vandalism on wikipedia, and having the references discourages it, and also makes it easier to fix when it happens. Similarly, when you are changing birthdates on the articles you are editing, you should provide your own source as a footnote. Gimmetrow 13:45, 4 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Birth date edits

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Some of your recent edits, such as those you made to April 10, have been considered unhelpful or unconstructive and have been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.. Please don't change birth dates unless you can provide a source. Novalis 20:34, 22 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Scott Vickaryous

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Scott Vickaryous, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? KenWalker | Talk 23:27, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Hotwine8! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 329 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Lisa Brenner - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Gil Grand - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
