Heh. Good to know. I guess I can count you in as a source of help in this crazy wiki. One of the reasons I won't be here so much is because I'm one of the frequent editors of this wiki. That place was my first wiki, mainly i've been afraid of Wikipedia because it's so freakin' busy! Over at Zelda Wiki, we sometimes go hours without edits. Yet still, we manage to keep a nice, informative wiki. I'm not one to edit articles too much. I'm really here to try what I can do to help. Often i'll be here, just looking at your wiki markup and everything to make Zelda Wiki more professional. Besides, what more of a place to look for help for a wiki then Wikipedia?! You guys are the definition of professional and smart (excluding the vandals). So yeah, i'll be here, gazing at ways to help my other wiki as well as help this place. I am the author of the page on Peripartum cardiomyopathy, which you have recently edited. I understand that you may be making changes to this article because you want to improve it for conciseness or otherwise; however, you have deleted critical information by doing so. Because of the nature of this disease, the word-phrasing has been very deliberate with colaboration with and approval of some of the world's leading authorities in peripartum cardiomyopathy, including James D. Thank you for explaining. Apologies for not signing and for the improper wording about so-called "authorship."Admittedly, I am new at Wikipedia and am still in the learning curve. In fact, if you can suggest to me a better way to make my citations more dynamic so that changes won't necessitate manually revising them when changes are made, I would appreciate it.

They are references to medical journal articles. Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean when you say, "If you have the sources"? Do you refer to links to the articles? Thanks again. --Erinmartineau (talk) 18:50, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

A source is basically a reliable website/book/article, etc. etc. that you can reference your writing from. WP:CITE explains a lot more. If you have websites, I'm better with those. I've enabled "RefTools" (my preferences --> gadgents), so that usually makes it easier.

Yes, the list under "References" in the peripartum cardiomyopathy article are all medical journal articles. I've just finished reorganizing them, but I would like to do something like you suggested, converting them to inline. I could probably find websites that have abstracts (not the full article). I really appreciate your time and help with this. Would you suggest that I add links the the medical journal abstracts online to the end of each of the citations? Actually, I'm not sure. Inline citations are where you put in a citation (see my advice with RefTools below) beside the text you're writing. That's where the little numbers a appear, and a formatted citation will appear where you put tthe {{reflist}} template. Here - can you tell me the name of the Journal, Issue #, and Publication date for this cite -

Fett JD, Christie LG, Carraway RD, Sundstrom JB, Ansari AA, Murphy JG. Unrecognized peripartum cardiomyopathy in Haitian women. International Journal Gynaecology Obstetrics 2005; 90:161-6.

- Then I can start entering the correct things into the reference.

What I need is the name of the Journal, Issue #, and Publication date. If you haven't noticed, under the references section is the entry, {{reflist}}. First, go to "my preferences", click on the "gadgets" tab, then enable "refTools" (under "editing gadgets". When you next go to the editing mode of the page, you'll probably see two new buttons at the side. When you click on the "CITE" one, click on "Journal" then enter everything you know in. The reference will format itself for you, you just have to enter it into the correct place, and a little clickable number will appear.

Of course, you use one citation more than once. This page will help you when it comes to that. Once you have everything specified in the example citation I put down, I can start work. IceUnshattered (talk) 19:27, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Friendly note about talk page messages

Hello. As a recent editor at User talk:71.202.65.243, I wanted to leave you a friendly reminder that as per WP:USER, editors may remove messages at will from their own talk page. While we may prefer that messages be archived, policy does not prohibit users -including anonymous users- from deleting comments from their own talk pages. The only talk page messages that may not be removed (as per WP:BLANKING) are declined unblock requests (but only while blocks are still in effect), confirmed sockpuppetry notices, or shared IP header templates (for anonymous editors) ... and these exceptions are just to keep a user from gaming the system.
