File permission problem with File:Michael Billy Activist.jpeg
editThanks for uploading File:Michael Billy Activist.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 17:56, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Michael Billy
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Michael Billy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Sources
editHi there, do you have sources to support the names you've added to the Michael Billy article? Specifically:Michael Bisogno, Michael Marcus, Marcus Pena Bermudez? Praxidicae (talk) 21:44, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
Michael Billy is his stage name. It’s what he uses for facebook, twitter, and instagram.
Michael Bisogno is his birth name which many of the early articles mentioned refer to him as.
Maria Pena is his birth mother, which is also from Facebook, but he deleted the facebook video with his full ‘birth name’ which I can cut from the page.
- None of this is sufficiently sourced for inclusion. Can you please also explain your affiliation with the subject and his organization? Praxidicae (talk) 21:51, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
The following Wikipedia contributor may be personally or professionally connected to the subject of this draft. Relevant policies and guidelines may include conflict of interest, autobiography, and neutral point of view.

Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Jtbell04. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Praxidicae (talk) 21:51, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
I do have a conflict of inerest with the subject. I am one of his friends. However, I am trying to write a neutral article and can understand where this can create problems. (It’s why I’ve kept trying to keep it neutral and removed things). It’s not easy, and many of the early citations I’ve listed are hard to find outside of what I have.
It’s why I’ve been asking for all the help I can get.
- The easiest guide to follow for proper disclosure is here. Praxidicae (talk) 22:03, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
I’m not being paid to do it. (I said there would be a conflict of interest, but there is a strict different between a paid contributor and one trying to simply get the information out there). Follow the same procedure?
- That url covers both paid and conflicts of interest. Praxidicae (talk) 22:08, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
Did I do that right? And what happens now? I’d like to keep the article since there isn’t one and he is, I believe, someone who should have a page.
- You can make your case here. However, per my nomination, he does not meet inclusion criteria currently. Praxidicae (talk) 22:16, 4 February 2019 (UTC)
I can look up what constitutes as sufficient sources but in some cases the articles (such as him when he was younger) are no longer valid or older style links.
What doesn’t meet inclusion criteria is what I am not fully understanding? (Trying to get all this right).
- He is not currently notable, see WP:NOTABILITY, WP:ANYBIO, WP:GNG. Praxidicae (talk) 22:25, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
