Please clean up the part in the "Controversy" headline, the part saying that Abu appears to say "Oh shit!", please edit this phrase, "this is not cut out in the DVD" to "the word "shit" was cut in the 1993 VHS release of the film and when it aired on television". --PJ Pete

William March Edit

Hello, you edited a link on the William March page to redirect to a different author than was intended. You linked to the author Mark Baker, but the author in question is yet another Mark Baker, writer of Nam: The Vietnam War in the Words of the Men and Women Who Fought There. I was only writing to say that I am changing it back, but wanted you to know why....I hate when people change my edits and never start a dialog....I know this is an almost absurd instance to relate, but I think everyone deserves an explanation. Beanie Babies

I noticed you have an interest in the page List of Ty Beanie Babies. This page is a work in progress that will take a very long time to complete, given there are so many Beanie Babies. Any help is strongly appreciated.

Nah, they're not the same person, the first ones address starts with 66 and the seconds with 68, which shows that they are infact difrent people, also neither has edited for a while so a block would be pointless, considering the dynamic nature of IPs. Your edit of 24 April 2011 amending dates of James Russell from (d.1505) to (1455-1509) is unreferenced. Are you able to provide a source? My source contradicts your edit. (Lobsterthermidor (talk) 12:58, 7 August 2011 (UTC))

Still confused: the 2004 ODNB, vol. 48, p.278 states "James Russell (d.1505/6)". Scott-Thomson, who is more reliable (ODNB falls into howling error of describing him as "of Kingston Russell" which S-T, quoted as source for ODNB, went to great lengths to refute) states his date of death as Nov. 1505 (p.108). I don't know where you found your dates. Furthermore, when making a purportedly corrective edit as you did, you should have left a line ref. Sorry to have to criticise. Xhosa people

Hi, PacificBoy. In your recent edit of Xhosa people, I notice that you have changed a number of "-ise" words to "-ize". WP:ENGVAR says that an article with a particular association with an English-speaking country should use spellings appropriate to that country. I don't know for sure whether South African English favours "-ise" or "-ize", but this page, for example, uses the word "immunisation", which suggests to me that the "ise" form is customary in South Africa. If this is so, then the part of your edit which alters these words was inappropriate. --ColinFine (talk) 23:06, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Slowly I Turned

I reverted your edit to the "Slowly I Turned" page, and thought I should let you know why. You'd added a "By Whom?" tag after the words "also referred to" in the text "also referred to as, variously, "The Stranger with a Kind Face" by clowns and clowning aficionados, "Niagara Falls" by fans of The Three Stooges, "Pokomoko" or "Bagel Street" by Abbott and Costello lovers, and "Martha" by fans of I Love Lucy."

This tag seems inappropriate because the sentence, as it stands, goes on to answer the "By Whom?" question in detail. If you want to add a "citation needed" tags, that would be more valid.

Before I reverted your edit, I looked at some of your previous edits, and thought that they were all "good calls" - keep up the good work! 86.7.30.217 (talk) 11:26, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Maugham Bibliography

Hello. I apologise for messing up the bibliography of W. S. Maugham's works. You're of course welcome to fix everything you think fit. I understand my remarks are too personal for this site and I promise I won't touch it anymore; but if I can help with something, let me know. To answer your question "by whom" is the 1951 Heinemann considered definitive, it is by Raymond Toole Stott, Maugham's most industrious bibliographer, whose 1973 revised and expanded edition of "A bibliography of the works of W. I've been editing on Wikipedia since 2006, and have only now had this brought to my attention, so I sincerely appreciate your message. As is probably the case with many editors in the US, WP's quotation style looks "off" at first; the need for a whole series of articles explaining its use on WP is probably the best proof of that. That said, I can't seem to find a specific example in the MOS for title quotations such as the ones in question. There are clear examples for quotations, but I can't find one that you'd use in the case of, say, "Chain of Fools". I'm not denying that it's correct for WP, but a separate example might be helpful. Custom signature fix needed

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
2. Click the Learn more button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
3. Update your signature to fix the error.
4. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Solution 3: Do nothing:

1. In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.
