Image:Thekla.PNG

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Thekla.PNG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 22:33, 28 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Roger Rabbit.gif)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Roger Rabbit.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:14, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Hanacomputer.PNG

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hanacomputer.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 03:43, 27 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's best to discuss changes of screenshots in the EJ Wells and Samantha Brady article on its talk page before changing them. Other editors have agreed as to what they want this article to look like, thus I will change most things back to how they were before you changed them...until there is consensus on the talk page of the EJ Wells and Samantha Brady article to change things to the way that you have changed them within that article. Categorizing EJ

edit
  • Hey, again, Silvestris. In the EJ Wells article, we really shouldn't put EJ in the Fictional rapists category, since the controversial incident between EJ and Sami is debated among viewers of that show as rape or not. And that category will most likely get removed from the EJ Wells article by another editor, if it's included within that article again. I went ahead and removed that category from the EJ Wells article this time. I'll see you around. Flyer22 05:18, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Recasts

edit

Hi, I wanted to let you know that I reverted your addition to Template:Infobox character because I don't think adding another field is necessary; recasts are typically listed in chrono order with dates. I wouldn't have bothered but this template is already bloated and has been going through some discussion lately as to whether it violates WP:WAF . I'll leave the Template:As the World Turns character alone because it's obviously a very specific template, and ATWT editors can always weigh in on it. Thanks. By the way, you should join [[WP:SOAPS}}; we're still coming out of inactivity and could use a dedicated editor like you! TAnthony 16:32, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • I had no idea that you had created an article here at Wikipedia, or that this article even existed. But, at this time, this article is still fairly new. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to edit this article quite a lot soon. Nice setup of an article you've created with this. Flyer22 22:48, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
    • Also, Silvestris, it's best not to call this couple a supercouple until they have been cited as a supercouple by the soap opera media or by media outside of soap opera...or unless they have been through several incidents of turmoil and overcame those incidents of turmoil together, with the soap opera media or the media outside of soap opera taking notice. On top of that, since we are talking about romantic couples on this matter, these two have not truly dated yet...have not been in a romance with each other yet. I'm going to remove the mention of Supercouple in their lead (their introduction), and I assume that you will be okay with me doing that. Flyer22 03:43, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. Proposed deletion of Ameera Ali Aziz

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ameera Ali Aziz, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Magioladitis (talk) 12:27, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Soap infobox

edit

We locked in the size to standardize images across articles; some editors tend to size them way to big. In any case, you can "cheat" by using the old image parameter, which allows a size change. Unlike in the new one, you also need to link the image:

| image = [[Image:PHOTO.jpg|150px]]

This will only work for the "main" image in the box, let me know if you need to resize another. — TAnthonyTalk 15:22, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Rorschach.PNG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

New main image for Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer article

I do not like that new image because it makes part of Noah's head look squished, even though it's the shadow. At first, I thought it was a photoshopped image, though that thought changed the more I looked at it. I had to see who uploaded it and when I saw that you are the uploader, I figured the image was legit. I do not like it, but it's just an image and is what you want...so I will not fight you on it. File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:20080210184206!Luke and Noah love story.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Icestorm815Talk 20:12, 21 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Kylefish.PNG

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Kylefish.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 10:17, 28 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:Kylefish.PNG

edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Kylefish.PNG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Admrboltz (talk) 04:23, 5 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
