Hattie Hansen (MBE)[2] is a plumber and entrepenuer; CEO of the Stopcocks Women Plumbers franchise for women in the plumbing trade[3]. She has become a spokesperson for minorities working in UK trades and construction encouraging women who aren't widely represented already to flourish in the industry.
Career After growing up in North East London and completing a Psycology Degree Hansen worked as a teacher in inner-city schools for eight years. She enroled on a plumbing course as a self employed apprentice. After practising as a plumber for 15 years she founded Stopcocks as a means of promoting and enabling female plumbers. Women currently make up around 3% of the construction workforce and 1% of plumbers so the Stopcocks network provides support to self employed women and training for those getting established in the trade.
Hansen authored 'The Joy of Plumbing: A Guide to Living the Life You Really, Really Want'[4] published in 2011 and is regularly featured in the national media and as an event speaker.
Hattie Hansen was named in the 2020 New Year Honours list as MBE for supporting and promoting women in the plumbing and heating industries.

editYour addition to this article

of what is admittedly a most atmospheric picture of a tramcar is not especially helpful. It would be much more appropriate here:

I don't understand the distinction between a 'trolleybus' and 'tramcar'. Please feel free to put a copy on the page you proposed.
