New Page Reviewer newsletter February 2020
Hello Tulsi,
- Source Guide Discussion
The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.
- Redirects
New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.
- Discussions and Resources
- There is an ongoing discussion around changing notifications for new editors who attempt to write articles.
- A recent discussion of whether Michelin starred restraunts are notable was archived without closure.
- A resource page with links pertinent for reviewers was created this month.
- A proposal to increase the scope of G5 was withdrawn.
- Refresher
Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

Articles for Creation: List of reviewers by subject notice
Hi Tulsi, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.
Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.
To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!
Sent to all Articles for Creation reviewers as a one-time notice. To opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page. Regards, Sam-2727 (talk)
Speedy deletion nomination of Gautam Kumawat
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Gautam Kumawat, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Praxidicae (talk) 17:18, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

Hello I am Tamjeed Ahmed. Some days ago you requested a speedy deletion of the page I have created for myself on Wikipedia. When I visited your page on Wikipedia I found you have created a long page about yourself including some personal information. But I can't understand what was wrong with my page, just like you have created a page on yourself I have created a page on mine. Pls reply me as soon as possible. Tamjeed Ahmed (talk) 07:52, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- Tamjeed Ahmed: Hello! Contributions matter. You have few edits. So, i guess your userpage can be tagged for deletion. I've pretty good edit counts. That's why I've discount. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat [ contribs | talk ] 09:05, 1 June 2020 (UTC)

May I know how many contributions or edits I have to make to create a page on myself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tamjeed Ahmed (talk • contribs) 16:54, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
Paid editing
Hi Tulsi, I believe I've asked you before but you were directly asked by @Seraphimblade: here about paid editing. I share those concerns as I pointed out your previous creation of Gautam Kumawat. You should be aware that WP:COI also applies even if WP:PAID doesn't. You state you've not been paid or solicited and as far as I can tell, you've never disclosed a conflict of interest or paid editing, however per your own link on your own userpage, you have a prominent ad displayed on your "Official" Facebook page encouraging people to contact you for "social media help" including "content related to Wikimedia projects." And here you are, again, creating an article which has also been solicited on various paid editing sites. Can you please explain what subjects you've edited about that have contacted you for this "free help"? I guess the tl;dr here is advertising to help people promote themselves on Wikipedia, whether you do so free or not is a WP:COI and deceptive, at best. Praxidicae (talk) 15:32, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Praxidicae, Hello! Yeah, that ad idea is just theft from WMF to help my colleagues. Unfortunately, it didn't worked for me. I haven't get any response yet. I am just trying to recover my bad. If you think the article still doesn't meet Wikipedia policies then feel free to put it for deletion, and I assure you I am not ever gonna create this again. I think I am getting more involved with Wikipedia. I should take a break. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat [ contribs | talk ] 15:56, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Can you please clarify your statement? Did you or did you not advertise "social media promotion" including content for Wikimedia projects? Did you edit for anyone who solicited that service? Your comments make absolutely no sense and do not at all answer my question. Who has asked you to edit - for free or for pay? Praxidicae (talk) 15:59, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Praxidicae, as i said
Unfortunately, it didn't worked for me. I haven't get any response yet.
I mean to say that I didn't advertise even once. I haven't edited for anyone; No one has asked about that service. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat [ contribs | talk ] 16:07, 16 June 2020 (UTC)- So the other answer would be that you're undertaking work via various paid editing sites, if clients aren't contacting you and hiring you to undertake specific edits to Wikipedia that way. It is, I'm sure you'll be the first to admit, incredibly suspicious that you've created an article which was solicited on a paid editing site. Nick (talk) 16:17, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Nick, No, I am not involved with any paid editing sites and any clients. I am editing Wikipedia because it's my hobby. I do it in my free time. It's for fun. Not for receiving any kind of payment. Kind regards, — Tulsi Bhagat [ contribs | talk ] 16:22, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
- Pardon my bluntness but I find this highly problematic and deceptive. You are a global sysop, global rollback and have several other advanced rights which means that you have autopatrolled everywhere. Do you see how this is a problem when you intended to edit in such a manner? You know full well the purpose of Wikipedia and in particular, English Wikipedia's policies on promotional and advertorial material, so I seriously have to question the intent here when you blatantly advertised editing services for "social media promotion" and possibly your competence given your previous creation Gautam Kumawat.
- Tulsi, you're not just a normal editor, you have advanced rights across *all* projects that lead to less scrutiny of your edits. I strongly suggest you refrain from creating any sort of articles about businesses, organizations or people in mainspace and go through AFC. Praxidicae (talk) 16:20, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

- Hello all! Looking at Tulsi Bhagat's page curation log, I found that, since his return, he has been exclusively dedicated to passing articles created by User:Virenderthind2019 on Punjab, India-related topics. Some of those articles were later deleted by other new page reviewers. That seems to have affected in no way, how Tulsi Bhagat handled further creations from Virenderthind2019. Punjabi is not one of the languages Tulsi Bhagat has claimed to know, nor is Punjab one of the regions close to, from what's known, what he is familiar with, namely Nepal and Bihar. I find this particularly troubling given the focus of Virenderthind2019 has been in areas prone to promotion, namely borderline notable living people and new films. I think this would be another thing requiring a good explanation. Usedtobecool ☎️ 13:19, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- I have just verified that Tulsi only used the NPR permission for articles also involving User:Virenderthind2019. I do find this troubling on its own merits and thus have put all those reviews back into the queue for a fresh look by a different NPP reviewer. Barkeep49 (talk) 16:31, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Gautam Kumawat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. New Page Reviewer newsletter June 2020
Hello Tulsi,
- Your help can make a difference
NPP Sorting can be a great way to find pages needing new page patrolling that match your strengths and interests. Using ORES, it divides articles into topics such as Literature or Chemistry and on Geography. Take a look and see if you can find time to patrol a couple pages a day. With over 10,000 pages in the queue, the highest it's been since ACPERM, your help could really make a difference.
- Google Adds New Languages to Google Translate
In late February, Google added 5 new languages to Google Translate: Kinyarwanda, Odia (Oriya), Tatar, Turkmen and Uyghur. This expands our ability to find and evaluate sources in those languages.
- Discussions and Resources
- A discussion on handling new article creation by paid editors is ongoing at the Village Pump.
- Also at the Village Pump is a discussion about limiting participation at Articles for Deletion discussion.
- A proposed new speedy deletion criteria for certain kinds of redirects ended with no consensus.
- Also ending with no change was a proposal to change how we handle certain kinds of vector images.

Change in user permissions
Hi Tulsi. Given the concerns expressed at meta and here about some of your English Wikipedia editing, including possible paid editing, I have removed the rollback and new page reviewer user permissions. Should you wish to reapply for them you may do so at WP:PERM. Barkeep49 (talk) 01:28, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
