File:Family Guy S11.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Blurred Lines (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This file looks too generic to serve as primary identification for a season. Right now, nothing indicates that this is the eleventh season of Family Guy. It just shows the logo and some characters. We should wait until DVD artwork comes out - because until then this won't do. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 23:08, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Who cares if it's not the DVD artwork, the image represents the season altogether. If you take a good look at this link, it shows proof that the image that I uploaded is the cover art of Season 11, so yes, this will do. --Blurred Lines 23:38, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I know it's the official artwork, but in the article it doesn't look like that. We don't upload stuff to "represent the season altogether". Here's the FUR for posters: "because the image is poster art, a form of product packaging or service marketing, the entire image is needed to identify the product or service, properly convey the meaning and branding intended, and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the image." This image does not do any of that, as it just looks like a promotional piece for the characters. It should be deleted. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 23:41, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What the heck are you talking about, what is this about "posters"? I do not have a license tag on the photo about "posters". This file was not uploaded free you know, it was labeled copyright for a reason. Feeling that you want it gone because of a "poster", does not make any sense whatsoever. Also, what do you mean by "the article it doesn't look like that", like what does that even mean? The file should not be deleted because of a opinion stated, "it shows a promotional piece of the characters", so? They do the exact same thing with the DVD covers, in case you haven't notice. --Blurred Lines 23:52, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The image fails WP:NFCC#8. There is nothing indicating that this serves as primary identification for the eleventh season, as such, removal would not be detrimental. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 00:17, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You just said to me before that it was the eleventh season cover, and now you're saying, "There is nothing indicating that this serves as primary identification for the eleventh season", and for your information, the image does help understand readers to the article, cause it's the official cover, and it's represents the season, duh. --Blurred Lines 00:22, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's not an eleventh season cover though. It's some graphic that shows up when you go to download an episode of it. Why should this be used as primary identification? Duh. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 00:25, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It is the eleventh season season cover, and for the answer to question, because FOX was the one who first published it, not any other source. Duh. --Blurred Lines 00:29, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I know that it's the eleventh season cover (well, calling it a cover is giving this Photoshop junk too much credit). When have I ever debated that? I'm trying to tell you that the image does not satisfy WP:NFCC#8. It's just a picture of some characters with the word "FAMILY GUY". Too generic to serve as primary identification, and it is not discussed critically. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 00:30, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The comment you made, "It's not an eleventh season cover though. It's some graphic that shows up when you go to download an episode of it."; That comment is how you debated it, and really, how do you know that FOX made the cover by "Photoshop junk"? Do you work for FOX, if not, I didn't think so. Also, for the NFCC#8 comment you made, again, read this. --Blurred Lines 00:43, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Try to stay on topic. I think it doesn't pass WP:NFCC#8, you do, that's that. No need to ask "do u werk for FOX" because that's very much irrelevant and has no relation to this image. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 00:48, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You made a "irrelevant and no relation" comment yourself about the cover also, insulting it. Also, if you think this file doesn't pass the "NFCC#8" because of the characters, then all of the DVD covers of Family Guy that has the characters on it need to be removed also. --Blurred Lines 00:56, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't pass WP:NFCC#8 because it's too banal to serve as primary identification. If you looked at this picture on its own, you would not associate it with Family Guy's eleventh season. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 01:19, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The first sentence you said, you may have to be more specific than "too banal to serve as primary identification". Also, why don't you take a closer look at Season 11, it does pass WP:NFCC#8, because it does help readers understand the topic more clearly, if it didn't, then all of the Family Guy DVD covers need to removed also. --Blurred Lines 01:28, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The others have volume numbers on the cover which identify the season. This doesn't. It looks more like a promo piece for the show. Nobody looking at this would possibly guess it's supposed to identify the season unless you told them. Taylor Trescott - my talk + my edits 01:31, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There is a link on the file proving that it is the official cover of Season 11 of Family Guy. --Blurred Lines 01:56, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
