Description
editI'm trying to gauge the interested in created a Big 12 WikiProject and wondered if you'd like to be involved. There are already pages for WikiProject Big Ten and WikiProject ACC. A Big 12 project would cover the schools themselves and anything to do with conference sports including: events, rivalries, teams, seasons, championships and lore. There is already quite a bit of activity here on Wikipedia regarding the Big 12, and I think a project could help coordinate and unify our efforts. - Grey Wanderer (talk) 23:40, 25 November 2009 (UTC), I have some experience in WikiProject creation, and would be willing to get this going if there is enough interest.[reply]
- NMajdan•talk 00:09, 26 November 2009 (UTC) I would participate in this project as I am already involved with various athletics article related to the Big 12 (primarily Oklahoma, but I'm starting to venture out). I created and am pretty much the lone participant of the University of Oklahoma WikiProject and I am heavily involved with the college football WikiProject. I also consider myself a member of many other WikiProjects.—NMajdan•talk 00:09, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Wordbuilder (talk · contribs). I would be very interested in participating. While my primary focus is on Texas Tech articles, I am also a member of a couple of other WikiProjects for Big 12 schools and have quite a few Big 12-related articles in my watchlist. →Wordbuilder (talk) 00:40, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Oldag07 (talk · contribs). I helped create WikiProject Texas A&M University. I would definitely like to join, though admittedly, I am not that big of a sports editor. Oldag07 (talk) 01:08, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- NThomas (talk · contribs). I think a Big 12 project is a GREAT idea. My focus with Texas Tech overlaps with User:Wordbuilder but I also contribute to University of Texas at Austin articles too.
- Levineps (talk · contribs)- I think this is a great idea, I would contribute to the project with a focus on CU since that's where I went to school.
- BQZip01 (talk · contribs) I'm in; got A&M covered.
- Ryan2845 (talk · contribs) Sounds like a great idea, i'm in. I focus on KU, but work on any of them when needed. Also have tried to start Big 12 summary articles for Football and Basketball. The basketball one is pretty complete. But haven't had much help on them, so the football one has not gotten very far due to lack of time on my part. Not sure if we want to try to maintain such articles or not.
- Jaretac (talk · contribs)- It is important to have guidance and standardization. Most all of us work on specific school pages (I'm one of the big editors for Iowa State) and occasionally branch out. I think this will be a great help in keeping Big 12 pages and school pages semi-standard.
Discussion
edit- Just for clarification, I believe the full name of this WikiProject should be Big 12 Conference instead of just Big 12.—NMajdan•talk 17:04, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Agreed. →Wordbuilder (talk) 17:33, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
