Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Tennessee|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Tennessee. 2023 Wynne–Parkin tornado

This article was first brought up on a project-space talk page by someone, although I can't remember exactly where. Seems to fail WP:NWEATHER from a cursory glance, no significant, lasting impacts, wasn't the deadliest tornado of the outbreak (which I know isn't a valid deletion reason), and over half of the references are to the NWS. Opposed Only 13/30 resources are from NWS, which makes up 43%, so you saying over half are from NWS is hyperbolic. This caused a lasting impact in the city of Wynne and the tornado is talked about through articles to this day. Just because it wasn't the deadliest doesn't mean it doesn't deserve and article, using that logic, the Greenfield Tornado shouldn't get an article because it wasn't the deadliest tornado of the outbreak sequence, so yeah, how l the amount of death the tornado caused is not a valid reason to delete the article. Usually (at least with tornadoes), discussion of a tornado six months-or-so after the event shows the tornado’s lasting impacts, which I don’t see here. E_F⁵ 22:08, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

August 2023 mid-south U.S. floods

Nominating yet another one of my articles for deletion for the same reasons: it fails WP:NSUSTAINED too. Most of the coverage for this event is only when the flooding took place, and that's about it. There's this article regarding the aftermath, but other than that, there's nothing else to be found. I wouldn't be opposed to a merge to Floods in the United States (2000–present), but given that this event kinda occurred in a localized area, I'm unsure if that's a good alternative for deletion in this case. Either way, this fails WP:NEVENT on the basis of sustained coverage, which this article doesn't really have. ~ Tails Wx 04:00, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Merge into Floods in the United States (2000-present), which seems to be an appropriate place to mention this (and again, shocked it’s not already there.) After conducting WP:BEFORE, I fail to see how this article is notable. I was unable to find any reliable information on this person other than he was an faithless elector in 1948, even then the sources are quite dubious. In addition, this article was created in 2008 and has hardly changed at all since, so I believe this is a forever stub. In my opinion, this is at the very least WP:SINGLEEVENT. Redirect to 1948 United States presidential election#Faithless Elector Controversy, a section I just made about what he did. I don't think he qualifies for his own article about himself per WP:1E which states "If the event is highly significant, and the individual's role within it is a large one, a separate article is generally appropriate." Redirect. This is a WP:BIO1E, so he wouldn't qualify for his own standalone biographical article on that basis alone, but it was certainly significant enough to cover as a subsection of a related article about the larger (and obviously notable) topic that it was part of. Per the first discussion, no evidence that this album is notable, and since the artist's page is just a redirect to the far more notable group he is a part of, this doesn't even serve a purpose as a redirect. No chart positions, no certifications, only one review that really goes in-depth about the album (the AllMusic writeup is more of an overview of the release, while the XXL piece is an interview so not independent), no evidence of notability to pass WP:NALBUMS. Delete - This is tougher than it looks because the album received a couple of pro reviews though they were pretty short. However, the rapper was declared non-notable outside of Three 6 Mafia in this recent AfD, so it's tough to justify an album article. Ancestry.com and The Peak Seeker are not reliable. Highpointers.org is the official highpointing organization so should not be used here. The only seemingly reliable source here is The Oregonian. Unless more coverage can be found, I feel like Arthur H. Marshall's achievements are better discussed briefly in the highpointing article instead of in its own article as notability seems weak. I believe the in-depth coverage on him in the Oregonian, and multiple sources crediting him with the first in the US to reach all the tops and receiving coverage multiple times spanning years apart is an indication of notability and I feel he meets Wikipedia:SPORTSPERSON
