Pathetic is the word that comes to mind when I think of the world government's response to the ongoing suffering of the Burmese people to the current dictatorship (who the world leaders know are corrupt).
We the world are complicit in the brutality and the murders. Sure, watch your sport and eat your chips and drink your beer and feel comfortable, (add your own addictions here). Sure, be ignorant of what is going on around you. Just remember ignorance is not an excuse / defence against the charges!
If it wasn't for people like the AVAAZ group (do a web search) and existing Burmese support groups very little would be known about the suffering. If it was for the mass media the sufering in Burma doesn't even exist.
We can wake up. We can choose to make a difference - and yes every little bit counts. Be committed. Take action.
with love
