Courtney Cronin
Courtney Cronin (born August 1, 1990) is an ESPN reporter who covers the Chicago Bears football organization. She is also a panelist on Around the Horn and makes appearances on First Take and SportsCenter, among other ESPN shows. She joined the network in 2017 as a Minnesota Vikings reporter before moving to report for the Chicago Bears in 2022.[1] She was promoted to the Bears reporting duties after the death of Jeff Dickerson.[2]
Early life and education
[edit]A native of Glenview, Illinois, Cronin attended Indiana University Bloomington from 2008 to 2012, graduating with degrees in journalism and Spanish. During her time at IU, she was employed at Indiana University Student Television and served as sports director during her final senior year.[3] She assisted in launching IUSport.com.[4] After completing four years of college, she accepted a postgraduate internship in digital communications at the NCAA.
Career
[edit]Once her postgraduate internship was completed, Cronin accepted a reporter and editor position at The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson, Mississippi, in 2013 covering Southeastern Conference and high school athletics. In 2016, she became a multimedia sports reporter for the San Jose Mercury News, and joined ESPN a year later. She made her Around The Horn debut on June 1, 2022.

Courtney Cronin is a national award-winning journalist who joined ESPN in August 2017 as the Minnesota Vikings reporter before assuming the role of Chicago Bears NFL Nation reporter in 2022. She delivers news, analysis and insight about the Bears on ESPN.com. She is also a national host on ESPN Radio and makes regular appearances on ESPN television programs, including SportsCenter, First Take and Around the Horn. Cronin appears regularly on ESPN 1000 in Chicago where she delivers news and analysis as the station’s Bears’ insider.
Prior to ESPN, Cronin worked as a multimedia sports reporter for the San Jose Mercury News. During her time in the Bay Area, Cronin covered the Warriors, Raiders, 49ers, Giants, A’s and Sharks, expanding her coverage across a multitude of platforms from the NBA Finals to Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest. From 2013-16, she was a leading voice on football and basketball recruiting throughout the Southeast with The Clarion-Ledger (Miss.), where she also covered SEC football and high school sports as a reporter and editor.
