Asian Games appearances (overview)

Iran competed in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China from 23 September to 8 October 2023. Earlier the event was scheduled to held in September 2022[2] but due to COVID-19 pandemic cases rising in China the event was postponed and rescheduled to September–October 2023.[3][4]

Competitors

Iran participated at the Games with 289 athletes (211 men and 78 women) in 35 sports. Also 235 people will accompany these athletes in this ceremony. The following is the list of sports and numbers of athletes participating at the 2022 Asian Games.[5]

Roster

The following 21 players list is the Iran squad for the 2022 Asian Games.[8] Mohammad Reza Bordbar and Alireza Rezaei did not find the right to leave the country due to the problems of the Conscription military service at Iran. The two players did not receive permission to leave the country and consequently withdrew from the squad and was not replaced.[9]
