Isild Le Besco (born 22 November 1982) is a French actress and filmmaker. She is of French and Algerian descent on her mother's side, and Vietnamese and Breton on her father's.[1]
She has starred in many films, including Sade (2000), a French film starring Daniel Auteuil, and in The Good Heart, directed by Dagur Kari. The third of five children of actress and journalist Catherine Belkhodja, she grew up in the world of theatre and film. All her siblings as adults are also involved in these worlds as actors, directors, cameramen, and producers.
Sex abuse cases
[edit]She has accused Benoît Jacquot of raping her during their relationship which started when she was underage, and would file a criminal complaint by July 2024.[2][3] Jacquot would be preliminarily criminally charged with raping her in July 2024.[4][5] On July 4, 2024, the Paris prosecutors office announced that the rape charge against Jacquot was now official and Jacquot was charged with the rape of a minor, Le Besco.[6] It was also revealed that a partner of Le Besco was charged with raping her over a 10-month span in 2007.[6] Jacquet will serve as a special witness in this separate case.[6] Le Besco has also alleged Jacques Doillon made advances during work sessions and tried to sexually blackmail her in 2000 when she hoped to star in his film Carrément à l'Ouest.[7][8]
