Sumène (French pronunciation: [symɛn]; Occitan: Sumena) is a commune in the Gard department in southern France.

[edit]Sumène has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification Csa) closely bordering on a warm-summer Mediterranean climate (Csb). The average annual temperature in Sumène is 13.4 °C (56.1 °F). The average annual rainfall is 1,245.5 mm (49.04 in) with October as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in July, at around 22.8 °C (73.0 °F), and lowest in January, at around 5.2 °C (41.4 °F). The highest temperature ever recorded in Sumène was 41.0 °C (105.8 °F) on 12 August 2003; the coldest temperature ever recorded was −13.8 °C (7.2 °F) on 15 January 1985.
