Long list of page-move proposals

– This is a continuation of my last proposal which the result was FAILED per WP:SNOW and I strong support the 2018 proposal per WP:BANDDAB. Three months ago, I entered into the proposal that I opposed and requested to move the title. Now, I just thanked to Hiddenstranger who moved page Supernova (South Korean band) to Supernova (South Korean group). If this my proposal is FAILED again, I mean the result is not moved for all, then every boy bands are BAND, which means the musical ensemble members perform by playing musical instruments, like the music video of Project Pop's "Boy Band", in first 30 seconds, I saw there was the group with musical instrument, they gave a demo CD to the manager, but he said "I'm not searching group band, but BOY BAND!", and finally the other group (instead of Project Pop) that became a boy band, which was the group WITHOUT musical instruments, came to the manager's room. -St3095 (?) 12:00, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Trainwreck isn't a policy or guideline, and A.C.E. isn't a band. Maybe the nom should be edited to keep the nationalities of those who already have the nationality disamb. Randy Kryn (talk) 13:48, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:BANDDAB, but this is a case by case situation, so some of those will have to be moved according to nationality as they share their name with other groups like Stockholm Syndrome (Swedish band) should be moved to Stockholm Syndrome (Swedish group), Sharp (South Korean band) to Sharp (South Korean group), Seventeen (South Korean band) to Seventeen (South Korean group), Empire (Japanese band) to Empire (Japanese group) and Big Bang (band) to Big Bang (South Korean group) which I have now altered in the list above. I only oppose Seventeen (Indonesian band) and Empire (German band) being moved as there is no need; nationality should be kept as there are other groups with the same name. I removed Can (South Korean band)Can (duo) from list as Can (South Korean band) has already been moved per discussion here. Hiddenstranger (talk) 13:43, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose all group can mean anything, the dab is (band) - and the suggestion that instruments are not involved in these groups is clearly wrong, just checking the first few. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:54, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Seriously AA (group) who is this supposed to be helping - certainly not AA members. Dabs are not meant to be perfect or supplement the article, it's a broad category that tells the general reader that it is a band. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:56, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: The nomination is really confusing to read. I'd suggest that the nominator seek help from someone more proficient in English, and use more discretion in choosing articles to nominate, rather than just tagging the entire Boybands category, as seems to have been done here. Many of these are clearly not boybands in the intended sense. --Paul_012 (talk) 15:09, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose This is too long a list for us to be able to comprehensively go through it. Given that S Group and News Group already have primary topics moving to '(group)' just creates unnecessary confusion. Those are just two i spotted quickly scrolling through, I'm sure there are more—blindlynx (talk) 15:45, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination and Hiddenstranger as well as per queries by Randy Kryn. Since it has been pointed out above by Necrothesp that "some of these names are used by other organisations, which could also be referred to as "groups"" and also that "incredibly common usage of the terms "boy band" and "girl band" to refer to these non-instrument-playing, warbling-only groups? Very definitely WP:COMMONNAME for them", I would alternatively support eliminating the use of parenthetical qualifier "(group)" as it relates to musical performers and initiate the use of qualifier "(band)" for all, regardless of whether the use of musical instruments is involved. However, unless and until there is consensus that a (group) → (band) move should be effected for all main title headers that have a need for parenthetical qualifiers as well as consensus for renaming of entries under parent categories such as Category:Musical groups or Category:Musical groups by genre, the random use of qualifiers "(group)" and "(band)" needs to be organized. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 17:17, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support for the K-pop group only. For the rest, not all are under group category, and should be discussed on case by case basic hence oppose (referring to the non K-pop group nominations, K-pop group remains as support) as per Wikipedia:TRAINWRECK. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 03:48, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per TRAINWRECK. I would like to discuss these page moves on separate category (k-pop and non-k-pop), which i support the former. But for now, discussion should not be take place on multiple bulk pages. 182.1.30.28 (talk) 05:21, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Trainwreck, etc. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:32, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Fun fact, I can predict the future. (CC) Tbhotch 17:59, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per WP:TRAINWRECK and WP:USEENGLISH... I can't understand the nom. Some of the comments help, but the overall point and purpose of this mass move proposal remains incoherent. Recommend WP:SNOW close and encourage nom or other supporters to propose moves of smaller coherent groups of articles with clearly articulated arguments. Oh, and while TRAINWRECK is not itself a policy, it presents a compelling argument that is quite applicable here. While one can copy/paste or paraphrase that argument into a comment here, it's more efficient to just link to it. --В²C 22:11, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment If this is just a mass move of the 'boyband' tag what's wrong with using (Boyband) as a parenthetical?—blindlynx (talk) 13:42, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Long list of page-move proposals

– This is a continuation of my last proposal which was FAILED by Paine Ellsworth. Several article nominations whose titles must be reverted, i.e. Empire (German band), Empire (Japanese band), and Stockholm Syndrome (Swedish band). Big Bang (band) must be merged to Big Bang (group), while Sharp (South Korean band) to Sharp (group).
@In ictu oculi: You cannot join this per WP:BANDDAB. -St3095 (?) 09:53, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose all per the discussion above. You've already proposed these moves at least twice before, what do you think is going to come from a third proposal literally a day later? Nothing in this proposal suggests any difference from your previous two, either. Also, what part of WP:BANDDAB states that In ictu oculi cannot join the discussion? I suggest that the nominator raise this at an appropriate project and gain consensus there before creating another move discussion. Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:50, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
