No Muppets, Please
[edit]The following was clearly written by a muppet:
- He also wrote a book entitled the The Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross which is a Christian order dating from the Middle Ages. But, Scholers claim that the Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross was "invented" in the seventeenth century.
Additionally, scholars know how to spell "Scholers". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.171.176.64 (talk) 09:06, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Waite and the Golden Dawn
[edit]I think a section for the Golden Dawn should be created and...of course, I'm removing the statements that Waite was "Grand Master" of the Golden Dawn, as he was never. The original order was left up to Mathers wife, after Mathers died. Zos 05:30, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Inner and Outer Order Initiations of the Holy Order of the Golden Dawn
[edit]I believe this cited volume is actually mistitled; the rituals are in fact the intitiations devised by Waite for his own Christian Kabbalistic mystical (not magical) order, The Fellowship of the Rosy Cross, originally published in 1916, but with revisions appearing up until 1942. 'Early Life' Information
[edit]I added more to the section about his 'early life', adding the reason for his move from America to England, about his education, and about the death of his sister. I also added information about his wives. kkarma (talk) 01:30, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Requested move
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
No consensus to move. Vegaswikian (talk) 05:23, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
A. E. Waite → Arthur Edward Waite – Although Waite did sign some of his books with the initials only, the full name seems to be the more common usage these days. Google searches show about 30% more page hits and three times as many book hits for the full name. Mangoe (talk) 10:43, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose. A. E. Waite is how he is almost always known. As always, Google searches are a poor way to prove common name. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:06, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- I would prefer to see some evidence for your assertion. Honestly I had never seen the initialization until you moved it. Google hits are of course imperfect, but they are better than unsupported statements. Mangoe (talk) 12:53, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- Strange, since I have never seen his name written out in full! -- Necrothesp (talk) 18:53, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
- Weak Oppose I would prefer to stay with the name used by Gilbert and by the publisher of his selected papers. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 20:47, 23 June 2011 (UTC)
- Neutral But you might want to take a look at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people)#Middle names and abbreviated names. Kind Journalist (talk) 03:41, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Re "Works"
[edit]Looking at Library of Congress catalog I believe AE Waite wrote a lot more than what is listed here. Can we expand it?
He also created another tarot card "A.E. Waite’s Second Tarot: the Waite-Trinick Deck" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:4A2:4100:6004:9A0D:F678:D43E (talk) 07:19, 8 February 2023 (UTC) ~~Ed~~ 2607:FEA8:4A2:4100:C4A0:C98:8BB8:3669 (talk) 05:03, 9 January 2023 (UTC)
