Polish edition

[edit]

Polish edition of the book was released in 2022 (and available in 2023) under slightly modified title "Oppenheimer. Triumf i tragedia ojca bomby atomowej" (literally: "Oppenheimer. Triumph and tragedy of the father of (an) atomic bomb") by "Wydawnictwo Replika" publishing house. ISBN: 978-83-67295-38-3 (hard cover, 766 pages plus 2 inserts of 16 pages each). As of July 20, 2023, there is no article about this book in Polish Wikipedia. michalj (talk) 12:43, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Michelmore, The Swift Years

[edit]

Not sure that this article is the right place to park a list of Oppenheimer biographies but I just added Nuel Pharr Davis's Lawrence and Oppenheimer which is pretty good. It was favorably reviewed by the NYT, though less favorably by Robert Oppenheimer's brother Frank.

Does anyone have thoughts about adding Peter Michelmore's The Swift Years: The Robert Oppenheimer Story? My physics teacher recommened it to me in high school but I never managed to read it as far as I remember. I managed to find some online snippets just now and it looks ok. 2601:644:8501:AAF0:4043:7961:893C:EC1 (talk) 23:47, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Virgin Islands???

[edit]

[1]. User:Schiller12 were you testing us? After the security hearing, Oppenheimer stayed on as IAS director, and Freeman Dyson said he was happier and did a better job at IAS since he was no longer in Washington so much. 2601:644:8501:AAF0:1C9:AA55:A6C6:5855 (talk) 06:49, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

americanprometheus.org

[edit]

My 2023 edition mentions a website called americanprometheus.org, but the website is not reachable. I did, however, find a kaibird.com, which I added in place of it. While I don't know if the article is long enough for this to be in scope, I'm sharing this to be encyclopedic. LeonhardEuler27 (talk) 19:15, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
