Industry Contributor
I'm looking to create a Dialog on how to appease existing concerns with the Bridgewater Systems wiki. So far I have tried to minimize the 'buzzwords' problem by linking industry jargon to wiki sites that define them.
I am hoping that in order to achieve neutrality, while expanding and editing the article avoiding opinion and sticking to encyclopedic factual references is sufficient. Heard.james (talk) 20:11, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
- Your edits are welcome, and your aim is sound. Adding Wikilinks to other articles are always a good place to start. I'll post some pointers on your Talk page. When in doubt, you can either post suggestions/comments to the article talk page, or exercise the Bold/Revert/Discuss process. Regards, Chuckiesdad/Talk/Contribs 20:17, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
I am waiting to be confirmed as a user before I can upload the Bridgewater Logo, as it is not allowed in the wiki commons.Heard.james (talk) 14:38, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm a bit concerned that I already received a system message about how the content I just uploaded to the Bridgewater Systems wiki page may carry a conflict of interest because I - as contributor - work at the company. I don't really know why anyone outside the company would maintain such content anyway, but my real concern is that the last person who wrote content for this page (Heard.James, who was a previous employee) had it torn apart by admin user Tnxman307 for seemingly no reason. I reviewed the changes made by that user and could not disagree more with his opinion that it was too jargony or full of ad copy. There were extremely limited cases of ad copy, and I don't want to waste my time adding this new content only to have it arbitrarily reduced by an admin again. If any admins reading this want to cite specific examples, I'm more than willing to discuss, but I already used a similar telecom company's wiki page as an example of what can/can't be written, so if any of this content is to be removed, then I have a very valid complaint against the holes in the review system because the same changes would have to be made to countless other wiki pages. Thanks to the admin TeapotGeorge - it was helpful to see specific spots where the apparent conflicts of interest were in question. There were three places where specific citation was requested, and I've addressed 2 of 3 - I don't see anything wrong with the third entry. I welcome another review by that admin to help clarify any remaining issues and to remove the banner across the top of the Bridgewater Systems page that still says we have issues with the content.
