Droid shots needed

[edit]

We need a shot of Droid running on the Android platform for this article as well as font specimens. --KJRehberg (talk) 20:24, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Created font specimens. --KJRehberg (talk) 22:01, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

pangram jumps

[edit]

"The quick brown fox jumps ..." is normally the standard, since it's a pangram. Using the perfect tense instead of the present tense results in the sentence having every letter but 's'. 98.222.61.151 (talk) 08:59, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I came here to say the same thing --DavidCary (talk) 23:06, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Droid font is not under the Apache license

[edit]

see here —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.112.125.84 (talk) 06:29, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This was a mistake during release, and Google/I've has promised a properly fielded font on friday the 29th of November. The accompanying file is correct and the internal Eula is incorrect. Cdibona (talk) 18:21, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary repo

[edit]

You can get the fonts from here, at least while the official repository is down due to the kernel.org hack. DRK.HD (talk) 23:27, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unicode coverage

[edit]

cf. Free_UCS_Outline_Fonts#Unicode_coverage or DejaVu_fonts#Unicode_coverage how about it? Echinacin35 (talk) 19:51, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Triggered by \bascendercorp\.com\b on the global blacklist
  • http://www.ascendercorp.com/pr/2009-02-12/

If you would like me to provide more information on the talk page, contact User:Cyberpower678 and ask him to program me with more info.

Resolved This issue has been resolved, and I have therefore removed the tag, if not already done. No further action is necessary.—cyberbot II NotifyOnline 17:37, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Droid sans has a serif'd capital I

[edit]

I think it should be noted on the page that the Droid Sans font uses serifs on the capital I to distinguish it from the lower case l. That is a relatively rare attribute, and one that some of us find very appealing. I thought about adding this myself, but wasn't comfortable adding it to the lede, and didn't see an obvious place later in the article that it would fit well.

As an aside, not directly related to this article, but triggered by it: I'm frustrated by font examples that exclude I, because how fonts handle I vs. l is important to me. I suspect I'm not alone, but perhaps I am. --KSmith (WMF) (talk) 23:39, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
