Alright lets break this down. This page is going to be a quickfail. There are a large number of missing citations:
...with ancient flint tools discovered at several sites.
The Chaukhandi tombs in Karachi's modern suburbs were built around this time between the 15th and 18th centuries.
...though the British were able to quickly defeat the rebels and reassert control over the city.
including the construction of Frere Hall in 1865 and the later Empress Market in 1889.
..now the Faisal Air Force Base.
....etc. This is just in the first 2 sections, and is it not an exhaustive list. I lost track at 2 dozen citation that were missing. Good articles must meet Wikipedia:Good article criteria, specifically I would direct you to criteria 2a and 2b. Additionally, there are two citation needed maintenance tags that also need to be dealt with and a number of other maintenance tags. Wikipedia cites WP:Reliable, WP:SECONDARY sources and this page still needs work. There are also issues of MOS:SANDWICH but that's besides the point. It would be largely futile to go any further with the page as long as it is missing so many sources.
On a more technical side, this page is 220,393 bytes long, much much larger than the recommended 100k bytes. I have no doubt that Karachi has a long and storied history but this page likely needs to be split as it is too unwieldy to read. I can see you've made 4 edits to this page. It is highly recommended that nominators are a primary page author since nominating for GA requires they you are very familiar with the topic. Lastly, this page was filed as a 'Misc' GA nomination when it should probably be filed under a "Places" GA nomination.
This isn't to scare you off, I can see you're a new editor and I admire the ambition. I would recommend that you start with taking a smaller page to GA status and learn the ropes rather than jump straight in with a Level-4 Vital article. Doing is the other half of learning, every experienced editor has failed a GA nom at some point. What's important is that you learn and keep trying. If you would like any help, feel free to ask and I hope to see you are GA some more. Etrius ( Us) 13:48, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- A review of the previous GA nominations tell me that this unsourced issue has extended for at least a decade. I guess I could also fail the page on
A reviewer who has not previously reviewed the article determines that any issues from previous GA nominations have not been adequately considered
. Its somewhat moot since the last review was 2011 but I still feel its salient enough to mention. Etrius ( Us) 13:54, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
