The result of the move request was: moved as requested with the previous title redirecting to the disambiguation page for now; please take that to WP:RFD if necessary. Dekimasuよ! 19:24, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
Michael Harrington (writer) → Michael Harrington (Canadian writer) – Incomplete disambiguation due to Wikipedia entry for American writer Michael Harrington, author of the influential book, The Other America. This matter was previously raised in the recent Talk:Michael Harrington#Requested move 24 November 2018. Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 19:07, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

- Since this specific topic had already been submitted for resolution, as a secondary element, in the previous discussion which closed as "consensus against move", it would be inappropriate to move it unilaterally without giving this nomination an opportunity to run its course. - Support - after move, correct links and redirect Michael Harrington (writer) to the DAB page per WP:INCDAB. -- Netoholic @ 03:59, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support Per WP:PRECISE, the current title is a WP:PDAB and both articles describe then as writers. Crouch, Swale (talk) 06:28, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- Neutral. As mentioned in the previous RM, since this article averages only 1 hit per day and since the famous Michael Harrington is already at the base name and is not known primarily as writer, it's highly unlikely anyone landing here wants anyone other than the Canadian writer. If considered necessary, however, disambiguation can accomplished either by the proposed move or by simply adding a {{distinguish}} hatnote to this article. Either way works equally well in this case. Station1 (talk) 09:18, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- If the base name (American writer) is not commonly known as a writer then maybe we should redirect Michael Harrington (writer) to Michael Harrington (disambiguation), not Michael Harrington, IMO redirecting to the DAB seems most sensible. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:40, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- I believe that is the intention of this proposal. Station1 (talk) 09:45, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- I assumed the proposal implies redirecting it to the base name, since the usual rule is that if a topic is at the base name, any qualified titles also redirect there such as Cambridge, England redirecting to Cambridge in Cambridgeshire (even though Cambridge, Gloucestershire is also in England) and Perth, Australia redirecting to Perth, Western Australia (even though Perth, Tasmania is also in Australia). However this does not necessarily apply if the qualifier is less applicable to the article at the base name, than one of the other topics on the DAB page. @Roman Spinner: could you please clarify if you currently favour redirecting "Michael Harrington (writer)" to the DAB page or Michael Harrington? - Although I did not specify it in the nomination, the proposal does indeed imply redirecting it {Michael Harrington (writer)} to Michael Harrington (disambiguation) per the usual rule regarding incomplete disambiguations. As for the American not being known primarily as a writer, he was, after all, the author of a well-known book as well as of numerous other writings, thus confirming that neither the Canadian nor the American is the sole writer named Michael Harrington.
