Ninsun vs. Nininsina
[edit]I was looking at Pabilsag's journey to Nibru (http://www.piney.com/BabPabNibru.html), and it mentions Ninisina as being the bride of Pabilsaj. However, how is this of any relationship to Ninsun (other than starting with Nin)?
Virgin birth of Gilgamesh?
[edit]I was reading the book, "The Epic of Gilgamesh" as rendered by Danny P. Jackson (Bolchazy-Carucci Publishers Inc. ISBN: 0-86516-352-9)
In Column 1, it says, speaking of Gilgamesh as the:
"Child of Lugalbanda's wife and some great force,
Gilgamesh is a fate alive, the
finest babe of Ninsun, she who never
let a man touch her, indeed
so pure and heavenly, so without fault."
The epic (or this interpretation of it) seems to say that although Lugalbanda was husband to Ninsun, their marriage was never consummated. That Gilgamesh is born of a "force" and a Goddess. (No wonder he is 2/3 God himself, and not merely half-God) Calladus (talk) 21:34, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
