In the previous version of this page, the term VietCong is used for National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam. Eventhough, it is a popular term, it carries a political message, and technically it does not correctly identify the organization. Please visit the site about NFL for more information about the term. I quote here:

"the name "Việt Cộng", came from the Vietnamese term for Vietnamese Communist (Việt Nam Cộng Sản) and was popularized by Ngo Dinh Diem, first president of South Vietnam, in his Denounce the Communists Campaign."

The term was invented for anti-Communism purpose, consider the fact the Wikipedia, we should try not to use it, unless in very narrow context. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Traanf (talkcontribs) 16:13, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He was shootdowned in Hanoi.

This subject's name should be filed differently

Why is this person filed under "Pete Peterson"? It is their third name officially and it is certainly not the most recognizable names of that ilk... Stevenmitchell (talk) 03:10, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I had problems to find him. http://vietnam.usembassy.gov/petersondp.html calls him 'Douglas "Pete" Peterson'. --87.79.84.20 (talk) 04:59, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
