Fair use rationale for Image:Portstephens-logo.jpg
[edit]Image:Portstephens-logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Climate in a council article?
[edit]Aussielegend, climate has nothing to do with the LGA, or the council.
The article you are looking for where climate would belong is Port Stephens, not Port Stephens Council.
Please stop undoing edits that have clearly be done for the right reasons. - Watchover
- This article is about the whole of the 979 km² Port Stephens Local Government Area, (note that last word), not just the the governing body. It is an overview document for the whole area and therefore items that relate to the whole area, like climate, belong in the article. The article includes information about the main towns and villages, incomes, demographics, sister cities etc because it is an overview document and all of these things, including climate, are relevant to all localities in the area, not just one particular location, as you are implying. Climate data covering the whole of the Port Stephens LGA certainly does not belong in the Port Stephens article because that article is only about the body of water in the east of the area. I suggest you look more closely at the article tree. --AussieLegend (talk) 13:52, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- although it is a lot of information for a local government's page maybe sumarise it or move it to the page watchover suggested. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.218.90.215 (talk • contribs) 03:40, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- As I indicated above, this isn't just about the local government, it's about the whole Local Government Area. And, the information obviously doesn't belong in Port Stephens for the reason that I also indicated. Nor can it be summarised. How exactly does one summarise four different tables? The tables themselves are summaries. It's most certainly not a lot of information. In fact there should be more. The article needs a fairly significant expansion and updating. I just haven't had time as I've been spending too much time doing administrrative edits. --AussieLegend (talk) 06:37, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
