Remove duroods
[edit]I have taken the liberty to remove the duroods on this page according to this page, quote:
PBUH , or the fuller "peace be upon him", after Muhammad or other Islamic prophets — recommended action is to remove.
Durood Vs Peace be upon Him
[edit]In my opinion both have different options. Generally the words "Peace be Upon Him" are akin to a small durood and are spoken after the name of Prophet Mohammad and not with any other prophet or person, whereas Durood also contains Prophet Abraham and descendants of both Prophets. Therefore, Darood cannot be merged or replaced with PBUH. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.154.26.188 (talk) 11:11, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
- "Peace be upon him" (`alayhi as-salam) is said after all prophets by Muslims. What is said specifically after Prophet Muhammad is "Peace and Allah's blessings be upon him" (sal Allahu 'alaihi wa salam). Both of these are basically a type of dua. Durood is a similar type of dua. The issue is that Durood is a Persian/Urdu word being used to describe an Islamic concept. Most Muslims other than those from the Indian subcontinent are unfamiliar with this term. The equivalent Arabic term that would include all this would be Salawat and Salam Axiom292 (talk) 05:31, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
Merge Salawat and Durood
[edit]Should Salawat and Durood be merged into 1 topic ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Verycuriousboy (talk • contribs) 12:14, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
Referenced hadith and salawat are all from secondary and tertiary hadith sources
[edit]None of them name the primary hadith collection and authenticity
