Millahanna thank you. I still can not figure out how to either make a new article or make appropriate changes. Maybe I will never get it and that would be unfortunate since I have wanted to correct this page since it first appeared. I asked Bart to email me..... I will ask you as well..... [redact] Seems rediculous to have a bio on someone that doesnt even have their birth date and birth city correct.

This article is filled with incorrect information and needs to be updated and corrected by the subject. (That's me) However my contributions were deleted. Until I am permitted to correct this article it remains inconsistent and incomplete.

I'm the one who reverted your edits on the article. I didn't have a problem with the content itself, for the most part. You just broke a few refs and I couldn't figure out how to fix it while leaving in your changes. You can see what I mean in the diff of your edit here. Scroll to the bottom "References" section and not the second reference got screwed up. As I said in my edit summary, try again? You'll want to watch out for WP:COI, though. Perhaps you could provide us with some online or print sources we could use to update the page? I'm sure the people at WP:PORN or WP:LGBT would be happy to help. I only stumbled across your edits while doing recent changes patrol. Also, as Bart noted, it is generally considered not good to remove talk page comments that do directly pertain to the article. Obviously that guy's opinion on the article's lack of significance never went anywhere so there's no harm in leaving it. I suppose there's no harm in removing it either but archiving is usually a better practice. Millahnna (mouse)talk 20:50, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Sources

[edit]

OK one source (which is actually currently used in the article) verifies the birthplace info that User:Tracey Adams was trying to include. Anyone know if the brithdate is correct? It didn't include the Tracey Roams alias, however.

IAFD actually verified the birthplace she tried to remove [1]. IAFD isn't totally reliable though. Epbr123 (talk) 21:58, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ack, my timeline is all outta wack; I see now. Bart and I are both in email communication with her now and a few other editors have offered to help too. Hopefully we can find something a bit more reliable. Millahnna (mouse)talk 22:16, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
With limited exceptions, IAFD is not a reliable source for wikipedia biographies: "Trivia on sites such as IMDb or FunTrivia should not be used as sources. "These media do not have adequate levels of editorial oversight or author credibility and lack assured persistence. [Bolding added]
One exception being that certain film authorship (screenwriting) credits on IMDb, specifically those which are provided by the Writer's Guild of America, can be considered to be adequately reliable." see WP:Reliable_source_examples#Use_of_electronic_or_online_sources David in DC (talk) 22:18, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't realize IAFD was like IMDB; good to know David, thanks. I'm in email contact with her while I dig for sources right now. I have a few different ideas for how we might find some stuff (non-adult movies, post porn work, etc.). I'm looking at some other adult stars who have fleshed out bios for inspiration. So far, no two bios I've found can agree on her birth date or place so this is going to be an interesting challenge. Millahnna (mouse)talk 23:47, 19 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So in digging around for sources I was able to find one website that does "where are they now" updates and suggested that Tracey does an interview with them. Apparently, just about every bio out there for her is wrong (which doesn't surprise me since no two of them agreed on any one detail about her life). The site is on a wordpress blog though, so I'm not sure if that's something we'd be able to use once they have an update on her. I know there's some precedent for using blogs depending on the post and the article in question. If someone can give me feedback on that I'd really appreciate it. In the meantime, she's getting in touch with someone to help make her an official website. So hopefully we'll have that to pull from in the not too distant future. Again, because I'm rarely a source/ref type editor in these parts, I'd appreciate any tips anyone can give me. I'm bookmarking various WP guidelines like verify and citation to make sure I don't bork anything. But my ref formatting tends to be a bit of a disaster.
