Message Board - Games
[edit]Shouldn't Pokemón Platinum be included under the list of game that use the Wii message board? The game can be registered to the Wii to send messages to the Wii when Platinum player's trade on the online trade system has gone through. MaxyDawg (talk) 01:54, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
New Channel
[edit]In Japan there is now a channel which alows you to order food through your Wii, worth mentioning. --Cooly123 (talk) 19:25, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
I was the one who posted the food delivery channel in the future section BUT WAS DELETED?? user:nickmasterrr —Preceding undated comment added 04:16, 7 June 2009 (UTC).
- Because you had no Reliable sources listed. Logan GBA (talk) 21:50, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Internet Channel
[edit]I've updated this section to show that the channel is now free. However, someone should probably do full rewrite of the section as it's a bit messy. --Northy (talk) 11:14, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Wii no Ma Channel
[edit]They should really say date when Wii no ma channel will come out internationally. If it's possible. Tennispro45 22:33, 4 September 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tennispro45 (talk • contribs)
Homebrew Channel
[edit]Who keeps on deleting the Homebrew Channel mention I make in additional channels? I know it isn't an actual registered channel, but it at least deserves a mention.
-Zel Kamtari
- I second its mention. While unofficial, it is indeed a full-fledged and completely integrated Wii Channel. Looking through the page history, it appears to be someone not using a Wikipedia account (lists IP address). Fearing possible shadiness from nintendo, an IP location look-up links to Dayton, OH, so who knows (Nintendo of America is in Redmond, WA). I'll try adding the section under my name and we'll see if that makes any difference. Nintendo Maniac 64 (talk) 04:28, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- I find it odd that the Homebrew Channel section makes no mention, unless i'm blind today, of it being a completely unofficial and unauthorized channel that requires a hack to install. The channel probably should be mentioned, but the fact that it's unauthorized and a hack seem worth mentioning. I don't yet have a Wii, but have followed it a bit over the years, and I actually had to click thru to the main Homebrew Channel article, because from reading this page, I thought, "Wait, is the Homebrew Channel an official channel now? That doesn't make sense to me, unless Nintendo now sanctions homebrew software?" I realize this page doesn't say it's NOT a hack, but I would assume anything that's a hack would be indicated as such, or else assume it's a "legit" (from Nintendo's standpoint) channel. Djlemonfresh (talk) 04:25, 12 December 2010 (UTC)djlemonfresh
- I just deleted it again, because it seems overly promotional to me to include an unofficial hack in this article. I'm debating whether to delete the Rabbids channel as well. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 15:43, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- As I said earlier, although the channel is unofficial, it's still a notable channel that deserves it's place in this article. Also, if you're going to delete the Rabbids channel, feel free to delete the Mario Kart/Wii Fit/Jam with the Band channels also.
-Zel Kamtari — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zel Kamtari (talk • contribs) 22:01, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
The homebrew channel and the extensive third party modifications to the wii menu surely deserve mention. User SarekOfVulcan is clearly wrong 24.207.133.39 (talk) 08:13, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Everybodys theather channel
[edit]it's been out in japan for awhile and i think it's worth mentioning in the downloadable channel section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.193.140.24 (talk) 14:31, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

SD Card Menu
[edit]I've noticed that when you launch a channel from the SD Card Menu, it shows a "Launching" message on the screen. I think the Launching message is when the Wii is copying the channel to the system memory. Keyboard mouse (talk) 16:48, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Netflix Channel
[edit]The Netflix service is finally coming to all U.S.-based Wii consoles. (Source) Shouldn't anyone talk about that on the main article? Hope(N Forever) (talk) 22:46, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Maintenance Mode
[edit]There is a maintenance mode on the Wii. You can activate it by: On the health warning screen, hold down +, -, and A until the screen goes to the menu. Should we mention that in the article? Boygirl22 (talk) 00:31, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
More Internet
[edit]If you know, the Internet has the security indecator. Maybe someone should add it. From Me, WiiRocks566 (☆) 17:41, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Wii Fit Plus/Photo 1.1 Channel
[edit]Although these two channels are incredibly similar to the Wii Fit and Photo Channels, respectively, they are still different in many ways, and are not the same channels. Please stop deleting them. -Zel Kamtari
Upcoming shutdown

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Preview
[edit]I was checking to see if there was any mention of the Metroid Prime 3 preview channel here. Looking through the archives, it looks like there was disagreement on whether to consider it a channel, or a Wiiware title. However these terms are defined, I don't see any non-game Wiiware content listed. Even if the Metroid Prime 3 preview is trivial, I don't remember any other preview channels like it, and think it'd be worth a mention. For completion's sake. 24.107.2.30 (talk) 04:17, 21 November 2017 (UTC)

Proposed merge of Internet Channel into Wii Menu#Internet Channel
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was Merge. Panini!🥪 16:20, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
There was a discussion on WT:VG#Should these articiticles should be merged?. 2 editors thought it should be merge (with one stating WP:NOTINDISCRIMINATE applies). Another put the article up for AFD when a merge discussion would be more appropriate. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:24, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- Merge/Redirect depending on whether there is anything to be merged. It is clear the Internet Channel article fails WP:GNG in its current state. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 16:27, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- Merge/Redirect - If The Homebrew channel does not quadify as a article, then this does not.
- You might wanna read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:31, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- Don't merge I think the sourcing in this article is sufficient to be kept separate. The Internet Channel did get quite a bit of coverage at the time. Elli (talk | contribs) 19:44, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- Can expand on that? The stuff currently in the article is pretty weak. Sergecross73 msg me 19:54, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- That said, since this is a merge, the supposed coverage can be added to the merge target and the section split out if it truly has enough to stand on its own (though I am skeptical). ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 20:17, 3 February 2022 (UTC)

- Merge - insufficient sourcing, not really much to be said anyways, it was a mundane, inconsequential internet browser used for a short amount of time. Sergecross73 msg me 19:54, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Sergecross73: I don't see how it was "mundane" and "inconsequential". Multiple large websites including YouTube released separate designs of their site specifically for the Internet Channel. Elli (talk | contribs) 01:03, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- I also wouldn't really say it was used for a short amount of time. The ability to access it on the way lasted for about 8 years (I'm fairly sure the revision from 2012-2017 was the Wii Mini, if not then even longer) which is definitely not a short amount of time. In fact, it's longer than the average lifespan of Nintendo's consoles (which is about 4 years) ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 02:10, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
