Bushrangers. this was the Australian Collaboration of the Fortnight and i have been working on the entertainment section. i lost my origninal work so i am way behind. this particular section needs more depth and has turned out to be fairly extensive so i am working on some structure in my bushranger sandbox before editing the actual page. this article is top priority. (but i get so easily distracted!)
Poor Fellow My Country. missing Australian novel article. i am working on getting a start-class article ready in my PFMC sandbox before putting up a stub. my reasoning behind this is that i would like the article to contain enough info to work with the novel article template so that the structure is already in place for other editors to work with. i'm not sure if that's wiki-etiquette or not (does it seem a bit selfish or authoritarian?) but that's my reasoning.
History of women in Australia. another missing Australian article. this will be a big and complex one and again i want some structure in place before i post it. having a look around wikipedia for a good model article, i couldn't find one. this is not going to be a history of feminism. similar articles i found were all dominated by feminist history and feminist analysis, which is a big problem in terms of neutral point of view. i am currently doing offline research, and will start sticking notes into my HWA sandbox soon.
Women and History Project. i voiced some of the concerns mentioned above at WikiProject Gender Studies. these can be found here. i would really like to clean up this particular area as the under-representation of women's history should, imo, be redressed and the problematic relationship between this area and feminism is damaging to the credibility of articles in both fields. i don't know if this should be put together as a project, as it crosses over between many other projects, but i do think some serious and collaborative effort is required.
Anarchism in Australia. another huge article, and a contentious one. it is possibly less likely to lead to edit wars than some of the other anarchism pages because anarchism doesn't have the prominence here in Australia that it does elsewhere. but there are solid historical records to build an article from; they just happen to be quite difficult to source. i have some of it in hard copy but my resources are mostly around the late 1800s and early 1900s so if anyone has other resources, or is interested in working on this article, please contact me. this article should lead to the creation of several other related articles as well: bios, publications etc.
