User:Cncmaster/RfA Criteria
Appearance
This page is a basic outline of my RfA !vote criteria.[1] Anyways, here it goes:
What I Prefer in a Prospective Administrator
[edit]- The candidate has a clean block log or their last block expired more than one and a half years ago, assuming the block wasn't accidental.
- The candidate has very little or no history of edit-warring or disputes.
- The candidate has made at least 50+ edits to WP:UAA and WP:AIV combined.
- The candidate answered their questions reasonably and to the best of their abilities.
- The candidate has a great understanding of important Wikipedia guidelines.
- The candidate can civilly and logically address comments and arguments, where applicable.
What Makes Me Oppose
[edit]- The candidate has a lengthy block log with the most recent block expiring within the last 9 months.
- The candidate has always tended to engage in edit-wars or content disputes.
- The candidate has a history of extremely sporadic "on and off" editing. If a candidate meets most of my support criteria and has been consistently editing for the past six months before the RfA was filed, I will generally support.[2]
- The candidate has made rude or inappropriate replies to other !votes on their RfA.
- The candidate is a new editor.[3]
Why I Sometimes Remain Neutral
[edit]- The candidate hasn't answered any questions asked by others after a long period, usually three days into the RfA.
- The candidate meets some of my support criteria, but is stilling missing a couple of important points.
Things I generally do not consider in an RfA
[edit]- Content creation. See this small musing I wrote for more information.
- I will look through AfD's that the candidate has created or !voted on, but I rarely base my !votes solely on them.
