WILLOW (Fashion Group) WILLOW is an Australian luxury womenswear and accessories label by fashion designer, Kit Willow. WILLOW debuted in 2003 at Mercedes-Benz Australian Fashion Week first as a lingerie collection, and then premiered at London Fashion Week in 2004 with her collection being declared "Both beautiful and varied enough to convince her fans that she is a talent set to last" by British Vogue. The following year, WILLOW was selected as one of ten designers to have her runway show fully sponsored at New York Fashion Week and continued showing in New York Fashion Week after that. The first WILLOW flagship store opened in 2008 with a second and third boutique opening in Melbourne in 2009.
Kit Willow was born and grew up in Melbourne where she first started her lingerie line. She worked in fashion stores throughout University and gained experience in the industry with various other fashion companies. In 2007 she worked with a Master of Draping in Paris to further improve her draping skills.
Kit Willow represents The Australian Childhood Foundation as an Ambassador in its support against child abuse. The brand also exhibits selected artists and their works in WILLOW boutiques. WILLOW recently launched a 'No to Plastic' policy whereby all their plastic packaging used by the company is biodegradable.
WILLOW has dressed many celebrities and fashion icons including Olivia Palermo, Florence Welch, Julia Restoin Roitfield, Eva Mendes and Rachel Bilson. The brand also works closely with other members of the fashion industry such as French Vogue stylist Melanie Huynh.
WILLOW is now carried worldwide including London, Middle East, Paris and is also stocked in major stores such as Harvey Nichols worldwide and Net-a-Porter. In Australia, WILLOW has three boutiques in Sydney and Melbourne, and is carried in major David Jones nationwide.
WILLOW has gained popularity from positive collection reviews on Style.com, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and other established publications. WILLOW is now known both locally and internationally for her elegant draping, impeccable tailoring and an understanding of a woman's body.
