Welcome to RAbbott's page

I've been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. I used to have a dinky point-and-shoot film camera that I would occasionally snap a few pictures with during trips or whenever I was bored. I even played around with the old cameras they give you at the haircutters'. I soon graduated to a more apt camera choice. I bought a Nikon Coolpix 3100 and shot thousands of photos with it. I bought a tripod and used it with that camera for long exposure night photography. It looked pretty funny, being that the camera was so small, and the tripod so large, but I wanted to get a really good photo, so I didn't care.

I bought that camera the summer before my sophomore year in high school. But during that school year, I had gotten a job, and had finally saved up enough money for one of the medium-range pro models: the Nikon D70. To any pro, this camera costs mere pocket change, but for me, I had to save up for half of a year working a horrible job. After I bought the D70, I quit my job and focused on shooting. I took thousands upon thousands of photographs from February until the summer. I got a job at a camera shop but soon realized it wasn't for me. The money was good, and it allowed me to buy a laptop so I could edit and store my photos. I once again became very serious about taking pictures. I shot school events and artistic shots, anything I could feasibly go to. I bought a few more lenses and filters, and kept learning more and more about photography.

This pretty much brings us up date. This past February, my shot counter on my camera passed 20k. In one year.

Recently, I built my own "mini" studio to shoot small objects for possible stock photography and just to get the hang of it and see if I like it.

I currently work at a local TV station as a production assistant.

I plan to attend college at the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks, the North Dakota State University at Fargo, Minnesota State at Moorhead, or University of Minnesota at the Twin Cities.
