Welcome!
[edit]Hello! I noticed your contributions and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. [edit]Hello, I'm Serge, an Admin here on Wikipedia. While I appreciate your interest in editing Wikipedia, please familiarize yourself with WP:NOTBROKEN. In short, there is no value in going around linking to exact article names. It's an unnecessary activity. Please stop thinking with stuff like that. Thanks. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions are appreciated, but, in this edit to Cheetara (ThunderCats), you removed Articles for deletion notices from articles or removed other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates. This makes it difficult to establish consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Please stop. If you continue to remove Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did at Cheetara, you may be blocked from editing. Do not perform cut-and-paste moves, or any other workarounds, to remove the articles for deletion tag. It stays on until the discussion is closed. Cut-and-paste moves also go against our licensing requirements if not properly attributed. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 23:57, 23 October 2023 (UTC)
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Cheetara (ThunderCats). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Reiterating Sergecross73's warning
[edit]Please (re-)read Sergecross73's warning above, and heed it. — Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 00:59, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. — Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 01:07, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
