Welcome!

[edit]

Hello! I noticed your contributions to Stubbs Society and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. You are welcome to edit anonymously; however, creating an account is free and has several benefits (for example, the ability to create pages, upload media and edit without one's IP address being visible to the public).

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Ed Stewart‎. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

"Improved link"

[edit]

Hi,

I noticed a few of your recent edits used the edit summary "improved link", when changing a redirect to a "piped" link. Please note that Wikipedia generally prefers simple redirected links over links that are "piped" unnecessarily.

Let me quote a very brief excerpt from WP:NOPIPE:

☒N Mozart

checkY Mozart

so:

☒N Banca d'Italia

checkY Banca d'Italia

and

☒N West Looe

checkY West Looe

etc.

Have a read of the advice given at MOS:LINK, particularly WP:NOTBROKEN, MOS:NOPIPE and WP:NOPIPE.

Best wishes, Jean-de-Nivelle (talk) 12:57, 19 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
