bad referencing

[edit]

Hello, I do not think journals are appropriate to describes someone's identity. You are committed to essentialism. Can you please retract them and provide academic sources, Wikipedia is not a blog-post list. Beibler (talk) 01:20, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please give examples of sources that are not appropriate in your opinion?
In general, I feel that the Article of "List of Jewish heads of state and government" lacks referencing, and would like to add references to every entry there. Baruch Benedictus Spinoza (talk) 08:59, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mirrors

[edit]

Information icon Thanks for contributing to the article List of Jewish heads of state and government. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Sam Kuru (talk) 22:50, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing this out to me, I'll pay attention to it. Baruch Benedictus Spinoza (talk) 22:51, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Again, in this edit you re-added one of the same mirrors I previously removed. Please slow down and carefully check your sources. Thanks. Sam Kuru (talk) 23:48, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See you there! Nagol0929 (talk) 14:23, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly suggest you read both these articles. The first is a core policy and you are expected to stick to it, no matter how Jewish you think a person (or their family) is or was. The second is a common sense rule, where we assume people know what Judaism is. So please cite sources when declaring people Jewish and do not link every time Judaism is mentioned. It is superfluous and (frankly) annoying. Kleuske (talk) 09:58, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing out these articles to me. I am aware of them.
I do try to add a citation for evetytime I mention a person is Jewish. I do not add a link to Judaism everytime it is mentioned, but sometimes it adds value, especially when the link is to a specific Jewish community. Baruch Benedictus Spinoza (talk) 10:23, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Amhara people in israel

[edit]

the information that you edited on the page of the Amhara people is misleading. It is referring to Falasha (Beta israel) which are different ethnicity than Amhara. 2A02:6680:210C:8652:6C89:3BA:66EC:8747 (talk) 10:40, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity in lead

[edit]

Please read MOS:ETHNICITY. The lead sentence should state the nationality of the subject of the article; ethnicity would only be mentioned if it is relevant to the subject's notability. Schazjmd (talk) 15:49, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks Baruch Benedictus Spinoza (talk) 16:06, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why are you continuing to add ethnicity to lead sentences when it is not relevant to the subject's notability? Schazjmd (talk) 14:24, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The edit you sent was made before your previous comment. It was done at 14:00, 17 April 2024 while your comment was at 15:49, 17 April 2024. Baruch Benedictus Spinoza (talk) 14:28, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're correct, I misread the time stamp. Sorry, I've struck my question. Schazjmd (talk) 14:33, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April 2024

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, in one of your recent edits, you added links to an article which did not add content or meaning, or repeated the same link several times throughout the article. Please see Wikipedia's guideline on links to avoid overlinking. Thank you. Remsense 16:17, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for going over my edits. It does seems though that you have reverted all of my recent edits without explanation and sometimes IMHO edits that add imformation. I would appreciate it if you could explain in the future if you decide to revert any of my additions to Wikipedia.
Thank you! Baruch Benedictus Spinoza (talk) 16:27, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They add very little information and certainly should not be a categorical addition to every article, as you seem to be trying to implement. Consider asking on the relevant talk pages whether such an addition would be worthwhile for any individual article, rather than creating a See also section specifically to link to a list which seems out of place in context. Thanks. Remsense 10:25, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is not out of place in context. I only added See also section to articles that similar articles have such a section. Regarding lists - I also added lists to articles that similar articles have a reference to the same list.
In addition I saw that you reverted all my other edits as well for no reason. I really don't understand why you literally revert every edit I do to contribute to Wikipedia. I also think that it makes sense to give a reason for reverts and not just categorically revert everything. It seems very counterproductive. Baruch Benedictus Spinoza (talk) 10:48, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Links to those lists should not be added to every applicable article, otherwise they already would have been. Like I said, please consider discussing additions per page. I've reverted your changes categorically because you've added the lists categorically, and thus all with the same problem. This is part of what categories are for, not usually the WP:SEEALSO section. Please consider the reasons we have WP:ETHNICITY. Remsense 01:54, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
