Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at The Reason I Jump, you may be blocked from editing. Nardog (talk) 21:54, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for replying. What I am trying to do is ESTABLISH a neutral point of view in the article. The version I edited egregiously violates Wikipedia's NPOV policy. The criticisms of the book The Reason I Jump should be placed in a "Controversies" section rather than in the main body of the article. Language such as "alleged" discredits the book and author and implies (without convincing or widely accepted evidence) that the stated author did not write the book and/or that there is a general consensus that the author did not write the book. Language of "researchers dismiss all claims that Higashida actually wrote the book himself" is patently false without evidence showing a breadth of criticisms. Such evidence is not provided. There is no widespread agreement, either among psychologists or the general public or in the autistic community, that Higashida did not write the book. To state that there is, without evidence, clearly violates the NPOV policy. Again, criticisms of the book, including by researchers and others, can be placed in a "Controversies" section and explored fully there. Also, the version I edited violates Wikipedia's Disability/Style Advice by using language and terminology that is NOT preferred by the group in question. While person-first language used to be the standard, there is an emerging consensus in the autistic community that "person with autism" is offensive. For the reasoning, see this post at the Autism Self-Advocacy Network. For the research showing the consensus, see "Does Language Matter" in the Journal of Autism & Developmental Disorders. My edits are intended to ESTABLISH a neutral point of view in this article and follow the disability style advice. Simply restoring the original version does not bring the article into alignment with Wikipedia's NPOV policy. Bodhipup (talk) 23:23, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
