Please stop just creating new pages about songs that do not assert the notability of the song. Ideally provide references to show that the song is notable and meets wikipedia guidelines for inclusion. If you need help please ask by leaving a message on my talk page. --Pontificalibus (talk) 22:38, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Need help?

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that there are a lot of deletion messages on your talk page. I understand and welcome your enthusiasm towards contributing to Wikipedia, but there are some guidelines that you have to follow. Please take some time off to read the welcome message above. Go through all the links, ecpecially on Notability. Articles on wikipedia have to meet certain criteria, or else they are deleted. Articles about songs do exist , but they have to be notable (such as topping some chart etc).If you need any help from me please put your message here itself . I am watching your talk page and will respond as soon as possible. Alternately you can leave a message on my talk page. --Deepak D'Souza 04:18, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Deepak,

I'm sure you will agree that these songs are notable against the context of the Goan cultural heritage. How can I prove that these songs are notable enough to be included in wikipedia?

Denzil Simoes (talk) 06:19, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You will have to explain why they are important. I am seeing no explanation at all of importance, so they are being deleted. Let me know if you want some of them back again. If the song is traditional and been around for hundreds of years, that may be one feature of notability. But appearing in one film is not in itself a reason to have an article. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:50, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Denzil, Agreed that these songs are immensly popular among Goans (and others too) but Enclylopedia articles have to have a global perspective. which is where their notability fails. Im sorry but that's the way it is. Secondly for these articles to exist; even if they are notable, they have to be sourced from some verifiable third-party source. Wikipedia does not allow original content. Sorry buddy but that is the way it is. I have seen some articles about Mangalorean artists get deleted because of simmilar reasons. Sorry to dissappoint you but thats the way things are.
Wikipedia:Notability (music) provides guidelines for notability of articles on music. This section on the page relates to notability of songs. Please go through them.
You may be better off creating articles about the various singers and composers (most notable one first such as Lorna Cordeiro and then go on to the less notable ones. Of course they should be sourced from third-party publishers. Dont put your own content. Concentrate on getting references for the subject before you begin an article. Your work on Deknni, Dulpod, Mando is good. I reccomend that you keep improving those articles first. Thanks --Deepak D'Souza 07:02, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Deepak, I'll keep this in mind.Denzil Simoes (talk) 07:28, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting talk page content

[edit]

Hi, I have reverted your recent removal of deletion messages. WIkipedia policy allows you to delete messages if you want. But you are not allowed to change other peoples messages or delete them (the exceptional cases being vandalism, attack or abuse). Feel free to delete any message from your talk page again if you want to. But dont change the message itselfr, like you tried to change mine. Hope that helps. --Deepak D'Souza 18:12, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I made a small mistake. You can delete other peoples messages on your talk page. But you cannot edit other peoples comments(other than exceptional circumstances). Please see Wikipedia:User talk page, and Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines (specifically the section called Editing Comments). Sorry for the mistake. --Deepak D'Souza 04:25, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page National Film Awards has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \baltfg\.com\b (links: http://www.altfg.com/blog/awards/indian-national-film-awards-2007/). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 06:57, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics/Thomas_Stephens_Konkkni_Kendr.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Your contributed article, Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Thomas Stephens Konkkni Kendr. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Thomas Stephens Konkkni Kendr - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Cind.amuse 12:11, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

December 2010

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Thomas Stephens Konkkni Kendr a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Cind.amuse 12:22, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cind.amuse, thanks for all the explanation. I didn't know about the undesirability of 'cut and paste' and in the future I will move articles in such cases. As I understand, now I need to wait for the destination page to be deleted and then I can move the page. In case I forget to do so, I request you to please move the page yourself. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Automotive Industry Standards may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ABS (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

IP block exempt

[edit]

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking for a period of one week. This will allow you to edit the English Wikipedia through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions. Inappropriate usage of this user right may result in revocation. I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption.
 — Berean Hunter (talk) 17:07, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Berean Hunter. What must I do if I face the block again after this week? Denzil Simoes (talk) 05:53, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That block is set to expire before then but if you should find yourself behind another hardblock, then you may request an IP block exemption either from your talk page or using UTRS again.
 — Berean Hunter (talk) 11:34, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Berean Hunter. I didn't realise that there was just a week remaining for the hardblock, or I would have waited it out and avoided putting everyone through trouble. Denzil Simoes (talk) 06:27, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pano baju

[edit]

It's NOT the traditional dress for Mando and it never was. Check old photos and illustrations among Bamonn families in Salcette. Or the Mando video in the old movie Amchem Noxib. Mario Miranda lied along with Wendell Rodricks, so that both could make more money and get some false fame. Now all Mando female dancers look like fools for blindly believing those two crazy Bombay Goans.
