Speedy deletion nomination of Karm (band)

[edit]

Hello Dolheguymckenzie,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Karm (band) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is significant enough to be included in an encyclopedia, and the artist doesn't have an article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Ireneshih (talk) 06:01, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Summer Gold. Various Artists, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Various Artists. Holiday Gold. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 09:13, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Non notable albums

[edit]

Hi there. I have noticed that you have created a bunch of pages for albums which are not notable and are up for deletion. Can I suggest that you read WP:NALBUM before creating any more pages. Compilation albums like the ones you have added are rarely notable. If you want to contribute why not help improve one of the existing stub articles? Gbawden (talk) 11:55, 10 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to echo this comment - please stop creating album articles until you are sure you understand the above album notability link. All Wikipedia article should meet the threshold of notability to be kept, and running around discussing and/or deleting the non-notable articles you're creating is making a lot of work for other editors. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Coup D'Etat (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.allmusic.com/artist/coup-detat-mn0000781850/biography. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Information icon Welcome, and thank you for contributing the page Killers (french metal band) to Wikipedia. While you have added the page to the English version of Wikipedia, the article is not in English. We invite you to translate it into English. It has been listed at Pages Needing Translation, but if it is not translated within two weeks, the article will be listed for deletion. Thank you. Dolheguymckenzie: I have deleted it. It already exists on the French-language Wikipedia: fr:Killers (groupe français). In addition, I see above that you already created Killers (French Metal Band) and it was speedy deleted. Also, your user name suggests that you have a conflict of interest with this band. Please read this:

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Dolheguymckenzie", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you.

and the linked page on conflicts of interest. Also, here are the notability guidelines for musical groups. I do not recommend you recreate the article. But if you do, it must be in English, and it must have references to independent sources demonstrating that the band meets that standard of notability. Thank you for understanding. Thanks for uploading File:Hit Wave821.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Killers (french metal band), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bardos. Proposed deletion of Island Wars

[edit]

The article Island Wars has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable TV show. No refs. Nothing obvious in google.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on Fils de la Haine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article does not exist or is eligible for deletion itself. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

The article Laural Barrett has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
