Proposed deletion of Dušan Knežević

[edit]

The article Dušan Knežević has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NHOOPS, local league not Euroleague required for automatic one-game notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Removing AfD template

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Dušan Knežević. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. This is an automated message from a bot about this edit, where you removed the deletion template from an article before the deletion discussion was complete. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dušan Knežević (basketball), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. MZT Skopje

[edit]

Words and sentences like "Domination", "can be assessed as highly successful", "the latest weapon", "MZT has managed to outperform teams with budgets many times bigger, as well as former European champions", "so maybe ambitions that were announced at the beginning of the season were not fully accomplish" and MANY other sentences like that has no place at Wikipedia because it is puffery / not NPOV, especially since the content is unsourced. There were also way too many pictures in the article, 5 is absolute maximum for one section. And remember that this is supposed to be overall history of the club, not detailed season-by-season review, so not every match and every signing should be mentioned, the section is way too long because of that – the whole 1966-1990 era has only few sentences, while 2012–present has like 7 paragraphs, way too detailed. Snowflake91 (talk) 22:41, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The word "Domination" it means domination in Macedonian League, not in European cups or ABA League Mkdbasket2014 (talk) 9:11, 5 July 2017 (UTC)

Stop reverting whole edits and adding back NPOV and puffery terms, it needs to be written in a more encyclopedic tone and not something you could read on the club's website, and I fixed many manual of style or grammar mistakes (using "/" instead of "–" for seasons, for example 2013–14 instead of 2013/2014, using comma instead of full stop to separate numbers (7,500, and not 7.500)), the section also had too many pictures, the POV content is unsourced, external links should contain only one official profile created by the club (and not 5 social accounts + official website), I fixed overlinks (the arena was linked twice in the lead section, and "ABA League" was linked like 5 times in once section), etc. Snowflake91 (talk) 09:32, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And also, do not remove "notable" maintance template in the "Notable former players" section, the list needs some kind of inclusion criteria, explaining why are those listed players "notable", not just adding all players with an article to the list. Snowflake91 (talk) 09:35, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The text is not from the club`s web cite, it was a hard work. The pictures from the players are ok beacause that players were main players for those seasons. Also, notable players are all players in MZT that played for the team in ABA League, Eurocup or achieved one title in domestic comptetiton. Please do not remove the text. Mkdbasket2014 (talk) 11:44, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You will get reported for edit warring if you revert whole edits once again without addressing all the issuses I posted, do you know what PUFFERY text means? Yes, exactly, the text is from the official club's website, and not from some neutral source-thats why it is puffery and not neutral. Snowflake91 (talk) 09:59, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Just the content you added today – "Big dreams, small achievements" for the section heading is puffery and not neutral enough. And then, the first sentence of the section – "The 2016/2017 season, although it had been announced to be the most successful season so far, primarily due to the large budget, is still a rerun of the turbulent 2014/2015. To show that the increased ambitions and desires for higher rating are not just an empty phrase, MZT Skopje applied for participation in the strong Eurocup for the second time in the last four years." is written in a POV, non-encyclopedic tone, and of course there is no any source to back that up. Look at Macedonian article at MK Wikipedia, the history section is just the right size, only key achivements are mentioned for every season, including all the sources. Snowflake91 (talk) 10:04, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK i understand what you want to say. I`ll make samo changes just like you said, only the main things for each season. Mkdbasket2014 (talk) 12:40, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thats much better, but still avoid words like "strong Eurocup" and "fiasco", I fixed it a little bit. Snowflake91 (talk) 11:43, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2017–18 Basketball league

[edit]

Hi, MkdBasket. I want to create the article for the 2017–18 Macedonian Basketball League season (or the name that it has), but I don't know which will be the competition format for this season. If you can tell me more, I can create the article, with location map indeed like in other European leagues. Thank you! Asturkian (talk) 15:26, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Asturkian. In this season in the Macedonian First League (basketball) will compete probably 10 or 12 clubs. It depends if KK Vardar and KK Pelister get permission to stay in the league. However, the League will start in October with all teams, including MZT Skopje who also play in ABA League. Mkdbasket2014 (talk) 9:30, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Notabilty criteria for basketball players

[edit]

hi you have created a lot of articles recently for players that don't meet the WP:NHOOPS criteria. Notably Petar Prentović Staphon Blair D'Andre Wright Tyrone Johnson (basketball) etc. Are you aware of these criteria? Domdeparis (talk) 13:06, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

They did`t play of any of those leagues (Macedonian or ABA League]] because those two competitons isn`t started yet. Mkdbasket2014 (talk) 3:18, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
Do you know what the notability criteria are? Domdeparis (talk) 13:19, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'll help you
  1. Have appeared in one game as either a player or head coach in the original American Basketball Association, Liga ACB, EuroLeague, National Basketball Association, National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (United States), Lega Basket Serie A, Women's National Basketball Association, Greek Basket League, Israeli Basketball Premier League, ABA League (and its predecessor the Yugoslav Basketball League), or the VTB United League (and its predecessors the USSR Premier Basketball League and the Russian Professional Basketball Championship).
  2. Were selected in the first two rounds of the NBA draft.
  3. Have won an award, or led the league in a major statistical category of the Continental Basketball Association or NBA G League.
Domdeparis (talk) 13:21, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Can you help me, what should i do in the future, if i want to create any similar article like this one? Mkdbasket2014 (talk) 3:27, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
Sure thanks first for listening. First of all check the teams that the players have played for. If the teams were not in the leagues mentioned in point 1 and they do not meet points 2 and 3 then there has to be sufficient sources to show they meet WP:GNG. This requires in-depth coverage in independent sources and not just routine stuff like match reports. If the criteria are met create the article if not don't. A great majority of the articles you created do not meet WP:NHOOPS or WP:GNG. What I would ask you to do is look over all the articles you have created and check that they meet WP:NHOOPS. If this is not the case please blank the articles (remove all info) and replace with {{db-g7}} and as an edit summary you can leave something like "fails NHOOPS" and the articles will be deleted by admin as a formality. If you don't do this then other editors will have to go through the deletions procedure and waste a lot of time cleaning up after and someone might want to report you to the admin for disruptive editing and this could lead to a block. Domdeparis (talk) 13:35, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

When you create articles, please keep in mind that the basketball positions point guard, shooting guard and small forward do not need Disambiguations. Recreate Eric Garcia after he debuts

[edit]

It is silly, but the article has been deleted. You should be able to recreate it after he plays tonight. You can ask the closing admin (User:Ritchie333) at his talk page to restore your old work to a draft so that you don't have to recreate it. My advice is use the additional sources that I listed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eric Garcia (basketball) and add a sourced bit about his debut in the ABA League (doesn't need to be in English). Thanks. Rikster2 (talk) 13:13, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much, I will make one of your suggestions. Mkdbasket2014 (talk) 3:29, 29 September 2017 (UTC)
The closing admin has put the old article at Draft:Eric Garcia (basketball). Once he plays you can recreate the article cutting and pasting the old content and adding the additional sources as discussed. Hope this helps. Rikster2 (talk) 14:43, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I`ve made some changes to the arcticle and add more sources. Waht do you think is better, to recreate a new article or to stay and wait for the admin to improve the old one.Mkdbasket2014 (talk) 9:35, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

2017–18 season

[edit]

Hi, I see the competition format for the 2017–18 Macedonian First League changed, and it seems it will be played as a normal round-robin tournament with two legs played by all the teams. Before adding a "Competition format" section as in the rest of the European leagues, do you know how many teams qualify for the playoffs how many of them will be relegated at the end of the season? Greetings. Asturkian (talk) 08:23, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The first regular part of the League is with 22 rounds (ends on 28 March 2018), then start the Super League which will consist of the top six teams from the regular part. The other six teams will fight for relegation play-out. Two teams will be relegated. As you know, the best four teams in the Super League will play in the Play-offs. Mkdbasket2014 (talk) 11:39, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

KK MZT Skopje 2 moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, KK MZT Skopje 2, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Deletion discussion about Đorđe Đeletović

[edit]

Hello, Mkdbasket2014,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Willbb234 and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Đorđe Đeletović should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Đorđe Đeletović.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Willbb234}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Your draft article, Draft:KK MZT Skopje 2

[edit]

Hello, Mkdbasket2014. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "KK MZT Skopje 2".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 16:56, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
