Carta gosho-sensei
Hi Nate! It is in portuguese, do you want me to translate it for you? Following the link you sent I can't see any translation to compare with the original. It is a letter from Gosho Motoharu felicitating Jorge Kishikawa for the release of the Go Rin No Sho (The book of five rings) from Miyamoto Musashi in its first edition in Portuguese. Motoharu went on to express that the Kishikawa family originates from Saga, where the Nabeshima clan also comes from. He tells about Nabeshima Rongo also known as Hagaruke, famous for his quote: "I've found that to be a samurai is synonym with to die". And he states that the Kishikawa family descends from the famous hagaruke samurai. He tells about Kishikawa's martial-arts background: 7th dan in Kendo; knowledge of the Shindo Musoryu jodo style, part of the kobudo and also studied the iai of the Suio style; he is also a Menkyo Kaiden of the Niten Ichi Ryu style founded by Musashi. It then explains the requirements of the Niten Ichi Ryu: 12 kata for the Itto-Seiho (correct handling of the sword: sei, totonoeru = adjust, set-up; ho = law, rule, form), 7 kata for Koidachi-Seiho (correct handling of the kodachi, or shorter sword); 5 kata for Nito-Seiho (correct handling of two swords). He stated that the training also demands 5 kata for the bo, 3 kata for the sword against the bo, and so on. Motoharu congratulates Kishikawa for his hagakure spirit and dedication to training. And he finally wish that the Livro dos cinco anéis (Book of five rings) in the brazillian version serves as the turning-point in brazillian budo development, and, as such, contributing to the well-being of humanity in general. Hope this helps :-). I can translate it completely if you need further information. Regards Loudenvier 17:15, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Image:Bradford logo.jpg
This image was tagged because it has no fair use rationale. Betacommand's recent actions were considered controversial, and I've rescued a few logos (as have many others). In this case, the image does not meet the non-free content criteria (WP:NFCC) because it is quite large. It's also got quite a few compression artefacts and is lacking a specific source.
You are right, of course, that logos are usually permissable (per WP:LOGO). I have replaced the offending image with Image:University of Bradford logo.jpg, and tagged the old version for deletion. — mholland (talk) 15:51, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

We're on to you
Well Nate. From now on, several of us are going to pay a lot closer attention to your disruption of this project. This will be in the form of a round the clock vandalism watch on you and your sockpuppets. Suffice it to say that from approx 7.45 in the morning until 11 at night, we will be monitering your edits. You and your sockpuppets have been destroying the work of valid editors like DrParkes for too long with a free reign. I hope you will see this as an opportunity to change your behaviour as we are sure that you can improve if you put your mind to it.
Come on buddy, lets see if you can shape up. Other editors are not your enemies... We all want this project to grow. So why not put that brain of yours to good use eh?

Tsuriai-Ryu Goshin Jitsu and Cuong Nhu Vo Dao
Good evening Nate,
Replying to your comment regarding the traditional nature of Tsuriai-Ryu Goshin Jitsu, the art consists of joint manipulations and control techniques that are common to many jiu-jitsu ryu; however, the techniques are taught sequentially as the level of the encounter progresses toward inital altercation and beyond.
Recently the curriculum was absorbed into Cuong Nhu Vo Dao (www.cuongnhuvodao.com). The entire curriculum should be posted on the web within three weeks or so. Cuong Nhu Vo Dao has recently been recognized as a legitimate and distinct mixed martial art by the World Head of Family Sokeship Council. The founder and Soke of Cuong Nhu Vo Dao is Mark Colangelo, and the Soke Dai is Jeff Tirshfield (myself). It is I who codified Tsuriai-Ryu Goshin Jitsu.
Not only has Cuong Nhu Vo Dao been recognized by the World Head f Family Sokeship Council, but it has the full support of Professor Ernie Cates 8th Dan Kodokan Judo and codifier of the Neko-Ryu Goshin Jitsu System. If you need any further information, please e-mail (daddyt@zen-bu.com) at your convenience.
Also, please excuse me for removing the tags, I assumed, erroneously, that after entering the supporting information the tags were to be removed.

You have a fan club
The editor you reported to ANI the other day has started impersonating your username: User:NATE1841 and User:Nate1418 showed up a few minutes ago. They've been blocked, but I've sure more will come back. I filed a checkuser to catch any sleepers and see if there was a blockable IP address, which has been completed. They did find some sleeper accounts but didn't say either way about the IP address, so I've asked for clarification. I've also watchlisted a few of the vandal's more frequent targets. - No apologies necessary. It's not your fault if other people act like children. Natalie 09:13, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
It appears that you have had a proclivity to edit, revise, and delete other's works. SEE EVIDENCE BELOW: You cite other's edits as POV; however you preclude the reality that your sources are nothing more than alternative P'sOV, of no greater veracity. This is no basis to remove edits.
Please write with balance, and do not categorically decimate other's works. Above all, do not disgrace or disrespect the Grandmaster, period. My rational inclination is to achieve a balance and truce, and we can go back to teaching at our schools. Alternatively, I can either freeze this page or make another report of you as a vandal. At this time it is your call to escalate this or achieve peace. There are many Sifus who will be happy to dispatch a display of their discontent to you. Please don't allow this to happen; it would engender further disgrace.
Peace

- First, allow me to apologize for an unintentional erasure of your Usertalk page, I copied and pasted carelessly and inadvertently.
- Perhaps your disrespect was unintentional; however it nonetheless was disrespectful and attempts to discredit Cheung Sifu. This is highly vestigial of Ting and his students, and it is now common knowledge from Emin that Kernspecht was orchestrating Emin's behavior at the direction of Ting. Do you need me to cite and publish these on a Leung Ting page? For example, Linda Lee has personally told me that Bruce was his sehing under YM and was his senior instructor. I run a school of New Jersey and speak to Cheung Sifu nearly daily. I will corroborate this with him when he comes to the US later this month.
- Meanwhile, your information comes from Ting and an organization he called "Ving Tsun Athletic Association". that claims in their letter that the "the association was founded by the late grandmaster Yip Man and most of his senior student since 1976" . Now if Yip Man died in 1971, how could he have founded the Ving Tsun Athletic Association in 1976?
- There are other inconsistencies I cannot point out at the time, but I will remain vigilant to this conversation, the integrity of GM wikepedia article, and ask you not to perpetuate such an untoward incident based upon the squabbles of other people. I do not want to initiate a Leung Ting webpage with disparagement, but I have the personnel to do so. What is it going to be?
Don´t worry friend, If Nate does not like or agree with your edits, he will have you blocked. He is doing immense damage to this project

I Was not intentional disrespecting any one. The comments you kindly reposted were made by a now banned user who disliked the fact that I didn't let him self promote on wikipedia. I apologise if you felt my reverts were wrong, however I felt some of the language used was inappropriate; You stated contested things as facts and have not provided any sources for them, I have now tried to produce a compromise version please read it, then edit rather than just reverting.
P.S. Please do not remove other people's comments from talk pages, its impolite. --Nate1481(talk/contribs) 16:23, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

AWB and missing links
I noticed that in the changes to the karate article that not only was some spelling changed but many links were dropped. I don't know if this was intentional or a side effect of the AWB software. It would be helpful if the comment about the modification distinguished between spelling changes ( which are minor ) and dropping links ( which is larger. ). In any case, thanks for all the great work! jmcw 21:52, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
The meaning of Ibid
Since you seemed completely unfamiliar with ibid since you were removing citations using it in [[Kiyojute Ryu Kempo], I thought I'd provide you a link to the wikipedia entry regarding the term. Apparently the style guide says to avoid it in wikipedia entries so I'll change the use, but in normal citations it's a common term. --Wingsandsword 11:42, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
You still have a fanclub!
Just been through several of the old socks and their userpages were recreated. I've blocked and deleted those concerned - just be aware of what's going on. ck lostsword • T • C 12:41, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
I don´t think anyone but you believes that these are socks, Nate. Although now I think we can add Ck lostword to your growing list of identities.
- Ahem whatever - still going on. I've started redirecting the impersonators' pages to your userpages after blocking them - perhaps you could put a notice to that effect on these pages. ck lostsword•T•C 08:22, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
wiki-link to a talk page
Hi, I've been looking through wikki guide lines about linking to talk pages. The only mention I found was at Wikipedia:Only_make_links_that_are_relevant_to_the_context where they showed the technique. I thought it was a good way to "take it to the talk page to reach consensus". It certainly does not belong on a high quality page but short term it seems useful to promote discussion. jmcw 10:01, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback. I would like to leave the link to the talk page for a few days to gather comments about a kempo disambiguity page - maybe no one cares<g>. Then the link could point to the disambiguity page. Is this big problem? Thanks! jmcw 12:18, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Abir Article
Hello,
I noticed the tags you placed on the Abir article concerning promotional tone. Can you please explain in the Abir talk page. I don't see any clear reason why you believe the article is promotional. Also, the picture that was moved up to the history section doesn't seem to fit there, since that section just gives the early history. I am working on cleaning up the techniques sections, which I agree needed some clean up. Thanks.--EhavEliyahu 15:35, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
You recently edited a page under the topic Ryuei Ryu where you deleted the external links as spam. I would like to inquire as to why exactly you thought these external links were spam. The three websites that were listed are are under the direct management of the senior students of the headmaster of the style based in Japan. They are not spam and are directly relevent to the main internationl governing body of Okinawan Ryuei Ryu karate.
Fanclub returns
I noticed User:Mate1481 because he reverted a comment you made on WP:MA, it seems he's reverted a number of your edits for no good reason. -- Medains 08:22, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- I popped a note on the admin noticeboard on your behalf. ;) -- Medains 08:42, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
- I indef blocked your "mate" and he seems to be linked to some bot-named socks earlier in June. Let me know if you have any more trouble. Steve (Stephen) talk 09:23, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
