[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! — MarkH21talk 18:36, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
Hi Rantieres! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at British capture of Senegal that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. — MarkH21talk 18:36, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Eric talk 03:22, 12 June 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Lone-078. An edit that you recently made to Nebamun seemed to be a test and has been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. See WP:ERA. Lone-078 (talk) 19:33, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at Ka (pharaoh), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Lone-078 (talk) 15:37, 12 July 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Peaceray. I noticed that you recently removed content from Narmer without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Peaceray (talk) 17:50, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Narmer, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Please wait for other editors' comments on the talk page. Peaceray (talk) 19:37, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- To clarify, you have not just changed information, you have removed a number of populated parameters without explanation. Peaceray (talk) 19:56, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
- A clarification: you reformatted, reordered, & changed the text case of the infobox, & you removed parameters including one that was populated. Your refactoring made it impossible to easily see what you had done with a diff. There are more details in my comments at Talk:Namer § Uncertain people in infobox.
- If I had known now when I placed these unexplained deletion warnings, I would have placed disruptive editing warnings instead. Peaceray (talk) 21:49, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- Please note that the {{Infobox pharaoh}} examples for parameters are all in lower case. Although the template appears to accept parameters in title case, I will consider wholesale unnecessary changes to case to be disruptive because of the havoc it plays with the diff. Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. 2024 United States presidential election Raladic (talk) 02:31, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
Comments on Bull Palette
[edit]You changed the name of a standard section on Bull Palette from External links
to Dead External links
. This is bad practice because:
- As per MOS:LAYOUTEL,
External links
is the standard appendix name - As per MOS:SECTIONHEADING,
Section headings should generally follow the guidance for article titles (above), and should be presented in sentence case (Funding of UNESCO projects in developing countries), not title case (Funding of UNESCO Projects in Developing Countries).
- Use the {{dead link}} template instead, as in
{{Dead link|date=August 2024}}
. - Both URLs were available from the Internet Archive (generally use the links in blue circles, although sometimes one needs to go through to determine the appropriate one):
