I believe it is necessary to mention that Aspergers was first recognized by the DSM-IV. It is a popular topic amongst society and its origination should be noted. Here is my hopeful addition: The DSM-IV was also the first to recognize Asperger's Syndrome as one of the five disorders listed under the category of pervasive developmental disorder.
