Be bold
[edit]It is clear from material that you have written on talk pages that you are able to contribute logically and clearly. so if you see an error, WP:be bold and just fix it. Obviously you won't want to replace one error by another so if in any doubt, search for a wp:reliable source first and cite it. (Formatting citations nicely can take some getting used to, so if you aren't sure, use {{helpme}} to ask for advice (or leave a message at my talk page). --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 09:24, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
- As you wish, though don't be surprised if you get a lot of "so if you know that much more than the rest of us, you fix it".
- There are actually few 'codes' to learn. Any fool can copyedit (well not quite), the big issue is getting reliably sourced quality material. So, if you contribute in good faith showing the evidence that supports your contribution, only the more churlish of established editors will quibble about an undotted i or uncrossed t.
- Perhaps like me you will decide one day, "oh for goodness sake who wrote this nonsense?? anyone who bothered to check XYZ would know that it is not that, it is this" and decide that it is quicker to just fix it than to spend ages explaining what is wrong with it. Never say never! --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 18:36, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
