College basketball teams' seasons
I see where you're quickly creating lots of college basketball teams' season articles, especially older teams like Princeton. Just so more work doesn't need to be done than necessary, please refer to Category:College men's basketball seasons in the United States for the correct categorization of where these articles should be placed. I know you're not intentionally placing them in NCAA season categories that don't exist, but they don't exist for a reason. The naming conventions of the seasons is historically accurate (as explained in the category's description). Since I have a feeling you're not quite through making college basketball team seasons (sarcasm :)), I figured you should be aware of the categories' names. Gracias. Hugh Culverhouse Nomination
Thanks for reviewing my Hugh Culverhouse GAN; but couldn't it have been put on hold to address easily-fixable issues, rather than quickfailing it? It took about six weeks for it to roll up the list to get to the point of being reviewed; why send it through that whole process again when the things you're asking for can be done in a couple of days? I feel that this is somewhat disrespectful toward the amount of work that went into the article, and is in violation of the Wikipedia reviewing guideline of providing solutions instead of problems.
BTW, as to your suggestion of an infobox, there doesn't seem to be an infobox template for team owners. I looked at the GA list, and there are no team owners in that list. The few owners that have infoboxes use the infobox:person template. Is this what you want? (And, this is part of the problem with the quickfail: it leaves no room for questions or clarification, so all I can do is go through the process again, and then I still have to get the clarification from whoever reviews the article at that time. Why not just take care of it now, while it's on your plate?) Dementia13 (talk) 05:11, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response; major or not, the problems you've addressed can be fixed in a couple of hours' worth of work. The lead can be rewritten relatively quickly, the links at the end (which I believe once referred to something in the article, but no longer do) can be deleted, and an infobox can be written in short time. I'm not sure what you mean about the "rough" links, and images are not going to happen (I've searched for far too many hours, and unfortunately, Mr. Culverhouse died before there was a Flickr. The only way to get a picture of him is to buy one from Getty or a newspaper. I even tried Federal sources, since he was briefly an Ambassador, but our government's commitment to making such photos public is sadly lacking.) If there's, as you imply, a whole mountain of issues behind those, I would like more specifics as to what they are. I feel that this is very "pass the buck" of you. - Sorry, Noraft, but this is a bit too much of WP:CANVASS for my comfort; the best way to speed up the DYK review process it to review the suggestions of other editors.
- Given the nature of this request, I'm posting this response on all three user pages.

GA review for Garrett Rivas
Hi Tony, I've reviewed your Good Article Nomination for Garrett Rivas and placed it on hold pending resolution of several issues with depth of content and article organization. Please note that, due to the heavy backlog in the Sports section of GAN and the large number of articles you currently have up for review, I'm going to be enforcing the seven-day limit for articles being on hold more strictly than I have in the past. Withdrawal
Hi Tony. I saw your post on Ruhrfisch's talk page but thought it might be better to reply here. I appreciate that you withdrew the FAC nom that was getting a lot of opposes. Please note that a withdrawal with opposes is the same as an archival. Archival does not mean "failed" (this is a common misconception), it just means that at the time, there was not consensus to promote for some reason. A withdrawal means that the nominator understands that there is not ready and is going to work on the article more leisurely. Since this article had a lot of feedback, I don't quite understand how a PR is necessary - you've already been given a lot of pointers as to what is missing in the article. After you've addressed those, then a PR would be much more useful. Good luck! Karanacs (talk) 15:21, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Your recent DYK/WikiCup talk threads
Tony, I don't know you, but I frequently bumped into your numerous contributions and by default had much respect for that. Now, forgive this personal and naive comment (ignore it as you wish), but in these threads you spilled out your unhealthy state of mind - by speaking of DYK and WP as a sinking ship, by pretending you understand their inner working (and with this you even managed to irritate Shubinator, that I've never seen before). I've just glanced at your user page, and frankly was not charmed by your tone there either. Loosing your head is the only things that can destroy you and your work. Make peace. WP and DYK are doing fine, trust me on that. Materialscientist (talk) 04:05, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
- No. You think you are educating someone. I am a relative novice on WP, but even my experience is enough to see obvious errors in your assessment of DYK mechanisms - no offense taken, just modesty. Materialscientist (talk) 04:13, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Re: WP:GA/recent
Hey Tony. For a reason I have not yet established, the bot did indeed go down for quite a few hours, but then immediately started working again. It then found that 8 new articles needed adding, which I have programmed it to find suspicious and not add to the list. It then (I think) resumed usual service. My editing pattern is going to be sporadic over the next fortnight; would you like me to alter this behaviour in case it happens again while I'm away? - Jarry1250 [Who? DYK date as actionlink in ArticleHistory
Hello TonyTheTiger, I hope you are doing well. I noticed you made this edit [4]. This is a really neat little addition and I'd like to know if the same sort of "actionlink" as a period in the chronology of {{ArticleHistory}} can be done, not just for the TFA but also for the DYK date? Re: Wolf Point
Hi. Sorry I missed your original message about Wolf Point (too many new messages on my talk page at once). The 1893 bird's-eye view comes from 'Rand, Mcnally and Co 's Bird's-Eye Views and Guide to Chicago'; there are numbered buildings in the drawing and I just found a copy of the book at archive.org[5] Building 9 on the north bank at Wolf Point is marked Davidson and Sons' building, built in 1872. Building 10, 11 and 12/13 on the west bank are the Fulton Elevator (1873), the St Paul Elevator (1879) and the Produce Cold Storage Exchange (1890). I'll see what I can find out about them all. The whole area was previously burnt in the fire, so some of these are probably the first buildings to be built at these locations after that.—Jeremy (talk) 04:48, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- I will see what I can do. I am pretty busy this week unfortunately, so my wiki time is limited.—Jeremy (talk) 15:24, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Tony, I did quite a bit of research yesterday and found some material that could be added to the Wolf Point article. Unfortunately I doubt that I will be able to do anything more this week. Regarding the plot of land on the north bank that you asked about, sources differ on exact dates but Samuel and John Miller were there in the late 1820s. Initially they had a store, but by 1830 they were also using it as a tavern. John Miller opened a tannery nearby in 1831, which one source claims was Chicago's first factory. Samuel Miller was involved in setting up Chicago's first official ferry service across the entrance to the north branch in 1831. There was also a saw mill opened around this time. I don't yet know when all this disappeared but by the time of this 1870s photo it looks to be being used mostly as yards. In 1900 it is described as being coal yards. I'm not sure where the Davidson and Sons' building shown in the 1893 view fits in—the Rand Mcnally book says that it was built in 1872, but it doesn't look to appear on the above photo, dated 1875, or on this 1879 bird's-eye view; I can't find any other source that mentions it, though there are a few adverts for Davidson and Sons in the 1890s in some of the books scanned at Google Books. My current thinking is that it is perhaps not accurately positioned in the Rand Mcnally view. —Jeremy (talk) 17:15, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

ledes
I'll leave it as is, but here are my thoughts: I don't think it's appropriate to have half the lede of a sitting U.S. Representative consist of her campaign/election history, as imo it trivializes the actual job. Since she hasn't been in office long, a summary of her previous work experience is appropriate. A summary of what she's accomplished might also be appropriate. Some include a geographical description of the District. Anyone interested in campaign history can simply scroll down. It's simply a matter of weight and emphasis: what's really important about someone who's a sitting U.S. Representative. Flatterworld (talk) 15:14, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

The Joan W. and Irving B. Harris Theater for Music and Dance is a 1525-seat theater for the performing arts located along the northern edge of Millennium Park in the Loop community area of Chicago. The theater was named for its primary benefactors, Joan and Irving Harris. It serves as the Park's indoor performing venue, a complement to Jay Pritzker Pavilion, which hosts the park's outdoor performances. Constructed in 2002–03, it is the city's premier performance venue for small- and medium-sized music and dance groups. It provides subsidized rental, technical expertise, and marketing support for the companies using it, and turned a profit in its fourth fiscal year. The Harris Theater has hosted notable national and international performers, such as the New York City Ballet's first visit to Chicago in over 25 years (in 2006). Performances have included the San Francisco Ballet, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and Stephen Sondheim. The theater has been credited as contributing to the performing arts renaissance in Chicago, and has been favorably reviewed for its acoustics, sightlines, proscenium and for providing a home for numerous performing organizations.
