Clearning up Toshio_Yamaguchi/Nightcore

[edit]

Hi, in the last year many lines are added to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Toshio_Yamaguchi/Nightcore. Most of the new info is false though. So I was wondering if you can spare some time to clean it up/reverse to previous revisions. I also notice the second reference link is down so here is another archive of it http://archive.is/gMve6. HKO2006 (talk) 15:01, 23 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You don't continue to write your pages. Generally such pages are replaced by redirects, beacsue they don't contain any additional information. None. Not even one number or word.Xx236 (talk) 06:16, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Xx236: I am no expert on these works, so I can't do too much to improve those articles. But notability of the works is established via WP:NBOOK#5 and thus they should have articles. Toshio Yamaguchi (talk) 06:31, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What is a solid? Compare Solid. If you mean geometry, please link or rewrite.Xx236 (talk) 07:39, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I wikilinked the term. Solid (geometry) is currently a redirect to solid geometry. I think the redirect should actually be turned into an article about solids, which I think would encompass both polyhedra and solids like cylinders, spheres etc. -- Toshio Yamaguchi 14:22, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Context

[edit]

When an article begins by saying

A chair tiling (or L tiling) is a nonperiodic substitution tiling created from L-tromino prototiles. These prototiles are examples of rep-tiles and so an iterative process of decomposing the L tiles into smaller copies and then rescaling them to their original size can be used to cover patches of the plane.

then the lay reader who has read that far does not know whether this is about furniture manufacturing or interior decorating or chemistry or economics or jurisprudence or electrical engineering or card games or typography. I edited it to begin as follows:

In geometry, a chair tiling (or L tiling) is a nonperiodic substitution tiling created from L-tromino prototiles. These prototiles are examples of rep-tiles and so an iterative process of decomposing the L tiles into smaller copies and then rescaling them to their original size can be used to cover patches of the plane.

About the name of The Truthbarrier in English - move to "Truth barriers"? Some other name?

[edit]

Hi Toshio - the University of Chicago's Library calls this work "Truth barriers". I would appreciate your opinions about this - Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 10:17, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Shirt58: In Tomas Tranströmer#List of works it is called The Truthbarrier, that's why I chose this article name. [1] seems to imply that the English version is indeed called "Truth Barriers", so I agree that the article should perhaps be renamed. I suggest to move to Truth Barriers. A tag has been placed on Category:All non-free files possibly below the threshold of originality indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
